Good weekend. Just wish we had more runners vs field event guys
There's just no excuse for the state university of New Jersey to have such an abysmal distance program. All the talent in the world in our backyard. Thought elevating Traynor was such a wasted opportunity.

I get it, but this was a record haul for us so take golds and ….run!

Yeah I'm not 100% sure what the inner politics look like (mainly if moving on from Farrell would risk losing Crawford) but I don't really see any potential harm in rebuilding the distance program from the ground up. So much of the program's success in recent years has come from Crawford, Cocci (throws), and Porambo (pole vault, though he no longer appears to be on staff?) retaining/developing great local talent and, particularly in Cocci's case, using RU as a regional training center-type of situation for pros.

When you have top-10 boys MOC finishers from last year committed to schools like American, Richmond, Boston College, and Monmouth, you really start to question why we accept such mediocrity. Need someone with a ton of respect from the NJ distance community who can both keep our athletes home and attract local post-grad/pro talent to train here. Someone like Robby Andrews, Johnny Gregorek, or Travis Mahoney whose professional careers are behind them and can continue their private coaching/training careers from Rutgers at the same time.
