Ugh … down 4-1 already … JHU is just the better team … congrats on finishing with a winning record and .500 in conference! Wish more teams could say the same!!!!

Rutgers loses 14-9. We got down 9-2 at the half, and then outscored Hopkins 7-5 in the 2nd half, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome.

Now we sweat out the NCAA selection in two weeks.

What’s the likelihood of making it

Theyre 17 in RPI with the 6th hardest schedule, no bad losses with 5 wins over Top 40 teams. I think the Michigan win gets the team in but may be a bit nerve wracking on Selection Day.
This.

What makes me worried, though, are the non-competitive losses to Maryland (18-11), Northwestern (18-6), and sort of last night against Hopkins (14-9, but down 11-2 early second half). No real shame in losing to those three top teams, of course, but the “optics” of losing so badly could hurt perception.

My guess is that we’ll get in. There’s a bigger field in WLAX than there is in MLAX.

FYI, the women dropped to 18 in the RPI after the loss to Hopkins. We were as high as 11 a couple weeks ago, so I definitely think we’re on the bubble (although I still think we’re going to get in).
