Not a fan of playing those savages from East Hartford. They make Penn State fans look like civilized people. Should've just had them play a one and done in NB.
Going to need to roll in like this:

Also: finalized a home game against LIU, according to a source at SHI Stadium on Sept. 18, 2027 .

UConn: Sept. 9, 2028 at UConn and Sept. 8, 2029 at SHI Stadium. Candle’s offensive coordinator is former Rutgers assistant (and interim head coach) Nunzio Campanile.

Going to see a bunch of 1980’s era Bergen catholic varsity jackets in the stands at UConn with Nunz there. Hahahah

Wake, UVA, Duke, South Carolina, Vandy would be fun P4 teams to play. Playing the Cons in that ******** in East Hartford is a mistake.
We should never play any of our old, deadbeat Big East era "friends"... anywhere...ever.

Geez...I have absolutely never seen anyone like Rutgers who refuses to accept the little bit of good fortune that almost accidentally comes our way...without making a stupid f***ing move that tries to throw a lifeline to a sworn enemy that should be left behind wallowing in all the muck that we can dig up and throw at them. Due, die, die...die with festering boils...die!!!

Go RU!

No need to get your panties in a bunch. Schiano will be desperate for wins as his contract is closer to the expiration date.

He will cancel the games and renew the Wagner rivalry.

Just a heads up…

If it’s not the case where it’s both home games for us, the “spin” will be, “Well, other P4 teams are doing it.”

I did some quick research on the UCan’t schedules going forward and it is true that some P4 teams are actually playing in East Hartford.

If Schiano doesnt make a bowl in the next 2 years he gets fired and the coach Zinn replaces will cancel the series anyway.

I like it. I agree with all the strategic reasons not to play UConn. But as a fan I have way more interest in the game and wanting to pound them than I would for any random team. Same with Cuse or BC. Bring it on. Play Cuse every year. Nobody cares about Maryland. Play the teams the fans care about beating. I think having more fun games is a good way to build up the fan base again.

Hate the UCONN home and home. Worst place i. have ever visited. Been to 40+ D1 stadiums. Fans suck too. No real upside scheduling that game.

Seatbacks are a huge benefit. This is the only series which felt like a rivalry. No one else looks at us the same way. Looking forward to my trip to the Rent.

Missouri - SEC
Boston College - ACC
Cincinnati - B12

So somebody does.

Recent opponents:

ND
Kansas State
Wake Forest
Syracuse
Wisconsin
Correct, but the majority of teams shy away from them due to the injury aspect. There was a stat not too long ago that showed a lot of teams who played the Army / Navy’s of the world would go on to lose the next week. I’ll try to find it.

So again…

Someone is playing them. And in Mizzou’s case both games are in Columbia.

Which is how a P2 team should handle a G5 game….at HOME.

Not really concerned with the who with UCan’t as to the where.

I'm just telling you why Rutgers doesn't schedule them anymore, that's all.

As for the two for none deal? I don't see Rutgers having the same pull as Missouri.

The old reason used to be, before they were in the AAC, was they wanted a longer season series…had to be two home and two away. Nothing shorter than that.

The argument then by Rutgers was, “well, we don’t wanna be locked into something so long.”

The new one is, “well, we get too beat up, they block differently, blah blah blah.”

But I showed you there are other P4 teams playing them. Some even at Michie.

And @mdk02 is correct:

Game at Army > Game at UCan’t

Home and home. And West Point in early October with the skydivers delivering the game ball, tailgates and foliage beats the snot out of anything UConn can offer.
East Hartford is a ********, UConn fans are scumbags, their stadium is a ********. At least with Temple it's an easy trip to Philly which actually has redeeming qualities without classless fans.

Playing at UCONN is a horrible idea for so many reasons already listed, not the least of its a horrible roadtrip experience. So many other options out there to fire up the fanbase.

I still remeber back in like 05 or 06 the UConn/Rutgers game where it was common knowledge the winner would get the haul of jersey kids in attendance. Sadly UConn won that game smh
