I’ve often shrugged off some of this as hype but this kind of programming could really have the chance to destroy our financial systems in the wrong hands.

I clearly remember circa 1994, the Nightly News ran a story with some virgin tech geek talking confidently about how digitally chipped credit cards, mobile banking and the internet would make our financial systems so much more secure than paper money and checkbooks.
I have faith in our institutions and the humans that run them to do the right thing and not let greed or fear lead their decision making.
Early 00's a few of us were soaking up a late night at the bars at a truck stop Pilot with a 24-hour Wendy's.
A buddy opined that debit cards were the "mark of the beast" if you think about it. Eventually, we won't need the cards, but you'll have to have a number in order to eat or acquire anything of need.
We mocked him at first, but then it kind of set in (over Biggie fries @dawgstudent ) & was a little sobering.
So, we remedied that at someone's apt that had late night booze listening to Iron Maiden.

I was sitting at a local restaurant bar in Hot Springs AR few weeks back. I struck up a conversation with the couple next to me. Started out with the usual conversation of what we did for a living. He dealt in AI data and I didn’t really understand what he did but he started talking about a new AI bot that really concerned him. I think the name was Mythos and he said if it is let loose it could change our way of life. He basically said it could have Skynet type implications.
Needed AI to rewrite that article and get to the damn point sooner.
Until our power grid is updated they need to slow their roll.
If you log into your computer one day and a blank screen comes up that just says “All your base are belong to us”, you’ll know you’re truly screwed.

What Anthropic is creating is more impressive than any other company. My job is changing daily due to it. Idk where the tech industry is in a few years but it will be very different. This is so very different than a year ago. Drastic changes are happening gents.
As future General of the human resistance against a self aware AI my first move is to take out the data centers.
Say AI does replace most of our labor. I doubt some utopia follows or that any sort of basic income bribery payment will be high enough to satisfy the masses while the AI overlords laugh at us poor useless schmucks. Will the masses just go along with it or check out, not participate, and reset new societies with old school rules? Basically regress a century economically but keep ourselves useful and occupied.
Probably not possible considering all the comforts we are now used to. We will have to be slaves to the tech oligarchy handing out enough so that we don't get frustrated and slaughter them I suppose.

I’m pretty convinced there are massive vulnerabilities in all of our internet computer systems. Financial, defense, governmental, electrical grids, who knows what else. If AI can find those, and even if it can’t now it will soon, we’ve got massive problems.
Yeah… we’re pretty close to Skynet becoming self aware.

On the good side of AI, Tesla is really close to perfecting a 100% self-driving car. Even their current supervised self-driving vehicle can handle the most stressful driving conditions thrown at it. And the largest super AI computer on earth, Mr. Grok will be the brain driving them. To me, this could be one of the best uses of our AI future.
