There is NFW he was paid 4M. lmfao. GTFO of here. the reporting on this stuff is comical. AF makes as much as the 10th pick in the draft. View attachment 1266865
If that number is accurate or even 50% accurate then it’s a classic case of a staff not doing their research and just trying to make a splash with their fan base.

More power to him. When Organizations are competing to substantially increase your compensation you are in a very very good place. You absolutely jump on that unique opportunity. Anyone saying they would not if in the same situation is a liar.
Such a stupid statement when there are numerous examples where athletes did the opposite. Including our key stud last year. I don't fault AJ for doing it, but people like you saying anyone who says they wouldn't do it is a liar is hilarious.

I know of at least one other current Iowa player who will be back next year that could definitely have explored the market and likely gained more $$ elsewhere, but wants to stay here out of loyalty and appreciation. (Now then, might that same player go elsewhere in the future...who knows?)

But not EVERY player focuses only on the money. That being said...while I am not a fan of the current situation, I also don't blame the players. If someone was waving big bucks in my face when I was 19...I would probably go too.

We are discussing Alvaro Folgueiras. I thought that was obvious. Alvaro Folgueiras.

Alvaro Folgueiras is in position to substantially increase his personal wealth, a very unique opportunity in a sport where an injury could end his career at any time.

If you want to present yourself as some kind of sanctimonious oddball who would reject a multimillion dollar offfer then go right ahead.

I wish Alvaro all the best wishes. The young man's mother worked two jobs to help her sons. If all made at a minimum of what Iowa paid then jackpot for him.

Al gave us several unforgetable moments during the tourney for which all of Hawkeye Nation applauded but was inconsistent in many of our losses. Ben was frustrated at times with his inconsistent play.

We have two very good young PF's and a big piece down low in McKeever. We need rebounding desperately. We needed Al's $$ to get McKeever.

In Ben I trust.
