Of the names mentioned would rank them...

Stonebrook
Western Valley
West Ridge (I would prefer this if it were Westridge)

Chesterfield weighs names for new high school in Matoaca

Chesterfield leaders are considering three name options for a new school in the Matoaca District informally known as “West Area High School,” which is slated to open next year.

Ugh. Very generic. I guess Otterdale never had a chance because someone would get fake offended by it. Could have called them the Otters and could have printed some merch money with the right logo.

Western Valley is laughable. Stonebrook sounds like a subdivision. And West Ridge doesn’t seem to fit at all.

In the article they mentioned Deep Creek but didn't want to name it a school that already exist within the state.

Stonebrook too similar to Stonebridge.

There's a Fox Creek nearby... you could be the Foxcreek Foxes or Mosley is nearby... call it Mosley HS which is original or even Duval HS given it is on Duval Road.

Hope they are creative with their mascot. Use alliteration to help create a merch magnet. And they shouldn’t shy away from being wacky with it.

Does anybody know how this will affect the districts? My assumption would be that they would enter the dominion district but that would make 11 teams. In footballs case no one would have room for a out of district game. That would take away the battle of Chester with Bird and Dale. I noticed Bird is on the schedule of Highland Springs this year which leads me to believe they got a dominion district game off their schedule. I wonder if that was in preparation of years to come.

Why don’t they split Chesterfield into two districts? Keep them all in the same region. And then move the district with the Hanover schools over to the another region?
