Bats got too aggressive trying to catch back up. Oh well still a huge series win and now we have the tie breaker with Tech. Just gotta hope we can make up a game on them.

Good series win. Today sucks but can’t complain about the series
Needed to make Patel work in the first few innings he was out there
Bullpen was a positive from today.
Tough break on strike 3 call. Tough break on line drive. GT has to feel fortunate to win this game and may give us even more confidence if we face them again. And has to put some doubt in their mind. We really looked like the better team all weekend.
Ton of tough breaks out there today, we had some less than stellar ABs. But, the regular season just doesn’t mean much anymore with the unbalanced schedules. There’s no question right now as who the best team in the conference is regardless of 1 game in the standings.
Considering I didn’t really think we were going to be able to hang with them heading into the weekend I will take a series win and be tickled to death. Our bats decided to go cold today after being en fuego the last two games. Would have loved the sweep but to say I am not happy with the weekend would be a lie.
We held GT to 11 runs the entire series. The Yellow Jackets scored 11 or more in 19 GAMES this year already.

Sure. And the hitters did what was expected of them. Just got unlucky where they hit it.
I agree about the regular season.
With them having the RPI advantage as of now (and we don’t have many chances left to improve it), I do think there’s a chance they’d be seeded higher than us for the big tournament if they win the regular season. But something like #3 vs #5 isn’t the biggest deal.
I think UCLA is penciled in at #1 already, and probably won’t lose many more games if any. 2-5 could go a lot of ways. Wouldn’t surprise me if we continue to play well we’d be #2 over GT in that scenario because of the head to head. But if you are 1-5 or 6 it doesn’t really matter as you said.
Assuming UCLA keeps the 1 seed on lock, the perfect scenario would be us being 2/3 and GT at 4/5. Would love to avoid those two until last possible series in post season.
Can’t win them all and most here didn’t think the Heels would take the series. They keep getting better, fun team to follow and root for.

Might be recency bias, but I wouldn’t mind being in a bracket with a team like GT. No pitchers that scare me and our right-handed power pitching is a good matchup for their lineup.
I’d rather avoid Texas with a 6’6” LHP ace that has an ERA just over 2.
Said it during the game, but it was like the starters had a different zone than all the pen guys who came after them.
Depending on UCLA’s 2 seed, wouldn’t be surprised to see them not make it out of a regional… haven’t played many teams of real quality arms lately
GT is all bat no arm. Reminds me of a couple teams we’ve had in the Forbes era, but as of now it seems as though we may have a good combo of both for the first time under his leadership.
I've mentioned this before. Last year he really heated up when May rolled around. He was hitting .270 on 5/9. He ended up at .325, and actually got as high as .333 before finishing the season 1-9.
Hard not to be disappointed to lose today but also I think anyone would have taken a series win and run with it before it started. GT made some plays today and Carolina just didn’t have enough at the plate. But very encouraging weekend!
Yes. I was so happy to win Game 1 Friday because I didn’t want to go to Bosh today hoping for a win so we didn’t get swept. We were playing with house money today.

No, really, I changed my mind. Y’all convinced me. Carolina played outstanding today. There just isn’t any way to know where the ball will fall. It’s basically a game of luck. Just like Friday and Saturday were.
