5 inning Freddy was actually doing quite well. Then Mendopeza took him out and the wheels fell off. He’s always pushing the right buttons. At least there’s Peterson tomorrow.

The Mets have a “highly rated” farm system and the answer is Hayden Senger?
You're not calling up a top prospect, starting his clock, placing him on the 40 man... just to have him sit on the bench for 10 days.

Bringing up Senger allows the Mets to DH Alvarez on the days he is not catching.

This team needs all the help they can get.

Forget about the clock / when eligibility starts etc - the season is rotting away and from top to bottom - this is a feeble horrendous lineup.

Minimally Mauricio could have been called up to play 2b or ss or 3b and take your pick who to bench

Or Call up someone who can contribute and insert into starting lineup to shake up the team. . Aj Ewing hitting .389 / Ryan Clifford doing ok

Hayden Senger is a piece of 🤮

Personally I think Mets farm system is overrated.

Only player I’m somewhat bullish on is Peña but he’s 3-4 years away and possibly Ewing.

CALLING YOU OUT DOUG …..

Stearns got it RIGHT on Diaz ……….

You don’t need to pay a closer 33 million when you’re always down 4-2 in the 9th

PURE GENIUS !!!!!!!

Not by me. You are free to worry whenever you want.

I will say this though: I personally don't pay much attention to the standings or the scoreboard until June at the earliest. I just concern myself with my own team. Maybe I said that and was not clear.

On a related point, I recall Stearns saying last year that he intentionally refrains from evaluating his team until the end of May. He believes only then can he get an accurate read on his team's strengths and weaknesses. He wants to avoid making snap judgments based on insufficient and incomplete data. Makes sense to me
When I typed “you”…it was not meant to be about you. I changed it as soon as I realized it may be taken that way. It was a different poster. And quite of few others like to use that it is early. Which is a great cliche in sports until you have a year like 2025 and any single game of the year could have been the one single game we needed.

NYP confirms Peterson is not injured.

This to me is a panic move - and I don't mean the Mets 2019 second baseman. Dropping Peterson from the rotation after only four friggin' starts? I guess Mendoza is feeling the heat.

Peterson has been poor (6.41 ERA) but not horrific. If the Mets were winning despite him, I guaran-damn-tee this move would not have been made.

I miss this F'n guy. I remember this speech like it was yesterday!

Yes, that is a classic rant! Unfortunately, I don't think it has much impact on guys with nine figure contracts. They are not terribly concerned with being replaced by some journeyman from Las Vegas (now Syracuse).

Myers is an ok adequate SP.

I sort of like the move.

Problem with Peterson is that he’s a headcase and is soft. ( as is Senga). Only has 2 pitches and hitters wait and yearn for his non deceptive change up / curve ball.

A headcase won’t break a 10 game losing streak.

Peterson may still pitch in relief today.

Rutgers
Mets
Dolphins
Rangers

Graduated Rutgers in ‘88 so can’t stop rooting for them. My only hope maybe Dolphins can do something with their first 2 #1 picks. There are people in the world that don’t watch sports. Could never understand it………until now🤬

I’m not saying it’s Mendoza’s fault. But you simply have to do something and firing him is the only real thing you can do. Somehow the message is not getting through.

Stearns is next at the end of the season hopefully.

They almost won today. Partial credit?

But seriously folks... when Soto went down, the prevailing attitude here was that we can at least tread water IF the other big name, big dollar vets pick up the slack. Instead, they have all disappeared.

I have believed all along that Mendoza is here until June no matter what. I am no longer so sure. For his sake, the Mets better have a winning homestand.
