Really gave them a gift there.. you beat the ball.. slide into his legs if he covering up the bag.
That can’t happen there. No reason to go that wide. A hit + on-base machine is coming up next. Get him to the plate.
I guess we need more practice sliding into 3rd. Twice this series we went off the bag.
Dang. Why don’t players slide feet first into the base anymore. Especially when there is no play. You can pop up quicker on bad throws as well.

With 2 outs, if you think the play is going to be close enough that you have to dive 3 feet right of the bag, you shouldn’t even go. But there was no reason for him to dive wide. He was beating it easily.
Unfortunately that’s just been Boaz most of his career
I don’t say this to dump on the guy but Folger Boaz cannot start a regional or super regional game when we get to that point. Just deeply inconsistent and unreliable from start to start. Bullpen role would serve him well I think.

IMO, we’re not going to go into any series with the plan being that Glauber doesn’t throw until game 3, especially as we start to prepare for a regional where the most important thing is to start 2-0.
If we somehow won the first two by 8+ and he wasn’t used or won one easily and got killed in the other one and he hadn’t pitched, I think there’s a chance he’d start.
