Well, we hit that mark and haven’t heard about Freeman. My guess would be that Matt Jones thought Rancik was coming to Ky.

I think Matt Jones made some guarantee that we’d get a commitment from either Rancik or Freeman by 1 o’clock today.

Rancik is now gone, and we’re past 1 … so it sure seems like we should be getting that Freeman commitment any minute now.
Why are we listening to Matt Jones? He literally said this past week that he doesn’t talk to anyone on the staff. He’s a blowhard. I trust him and Jeff Goodman basically the same.

You started the thread. Why are you asking others?
Well at one point I saw a post saying by 1:00 tomorrow, thought it was the Matt Jones post so I may have confused the post is why I asked! Thank you for your useless snarky reply, now head back down to the basement.

Yes he did. He said SHOULD get either Freeman or Rancik by today, but he guaranteed nothing, and certainly didn’t give a time frame.

Not exactly, he is a lawyer and words have specific meanings. His exact quote is: "Kentucky will have (absent a major change) either Freeman or Rancik by tomorrow" "Will" is not the same as "should."

What happened to "2 commits by Friday, and 4 by Sunday," and then still "4 by Sunday," and then "1 on Saturday, and the other on Sunday, and "X is a done deal"... ?

Same thing as always. Nothing but guesses by people that hope the timing works out that they happen to be "right." Ssdd
We know he does this on this board

He's not a lawyer. He has a law degree. And barely ever actually practiced law.

I'm glad I read the comments; I was getting ready to post that it wasn't one yet in Hawaii.
I’m patiently waiting. Two hundred more years according to the Mayan calendar.

Thanks for the clarification. Having said that, the point still stands that anyone who has studied law on any level certainly understands the difference between "will" and "should."

I once sat through several days of meetings on our organization's constitution and listened to endless debates about whether or not the word "shall" was legally binding. Someone found one instance in the constitution in which the word "shall" could not be intepreted as being legally binding and used that to argue that should extend to the entire constitution. Fun times! (sarcasm)
