I’m excited about him too. He always seemed to have a great attitude on the bench last year too. He seems like a good teammate.
Hawthorne and Williams at the 3 are great in my opinion. If you can get better then do it, but I think we’re ok either way. Gotta get a couple 6-9 to 6-11 guys to play under and pop out at the 4. There’s where we have to get Freeman and Rancik.

I really hope he’s been in the weight room. His skill and potential seem good. But unless he puts on some weight and gains strength, he’ll have a hard time against grown men.

Our best players are always on the bench according to the fan base. I hope he is a good player for us, but call me skeptical that he’s the next Kevin Durant.

People need to remember that he has not announced he’s coming back yet and appears to be waiting on stokes to make his decision. If the portal deadline comes and stokes still hasn’t made a decision, then I could see Hawthorne entering the portal just to be safe. He can always come back

Hawthorne is the 2nd highest rated player out of High School on the current Ky roster .

Most of the negativity on this site is kids in mom's basement or fans of lessor or rival teams, jmo.
Man, look....I hope Hawthorne does great. But the fact is, Noah was getting minutes last season and Pope never even let this guy near the court. So, no, I can't count on him being a significant rotation player in the SEC, let alone a starter, until he shows it
Again, Goose watched most practices and said guys could not stop Hawthorne from scoring. Goose wanted him on the floor and he thinks Pope was about to pull the trigger when Hawthorne got dinged. If he has spent the last year getting stronger and better, I am excited to see him on the floor.
Everyone said our team was outstanding all summer and up until the BBM and exb games and look how that turned out. Until Hawthorne proves it in games against KU etc, Im going to be highly skeptical and think there's a high likelihood they over hyped him wrong like all our other players this season
His body looks similar to Nate Ament. I know Ament is better but could he be close to a poor man’s Ament?
