Game 40 - Carolina 14 GT 4 - Series Secured

Most national experts didn't think our lowly ragtag team could win a game from GT, much less the series with a run-rule game. Do they think we belong in the conversation now?
Assume Heels move into the top 5 of the RPI. Win tomorrow maybe 3rd. Tomorrow is important - would love to win a close one just to rub salt in the wound. Remaining schedule seems manageable.
Ehh, another two months would be better! Can’t peak yet. CWS is second half of June.

Why are some conference games subject to the run rule while others are not. For example, I saw that Wake beat State 22-1 last night.
Nothing wrong with being on the boat, catching fish, drinking beer, and watching the heels secure a series win. #GDTBTH.

Has to go 7 innings before the run rule kicks in. 22-1 after 6 innings isn’t ball game. 22-1 after 7 innings is.
Wake beat State 22-1 in 7.
It was a run rule game, but have to complete 7 innings.....it's not like summer travel ball.
Love baseball at the Bosh! Even caught a t-shirt today! It will be nice and relaxing tomorrow knowing we already clinched the series.

Run rule takes effect after 7 innings (or 6.5 if the home team already has the 10+ run lead). Wake piled it on in the bottom of the 6th and the game was called after the top of the 7th.

I’ve tried to name it several times this year, but there’s something about these guys: they don’t blink. Winslow was 0-2 with two Ks, comes up a third time and parks one in the deepest part of the Bosh. And when they smell blood, they absolutely go for the jugular.
I don’t know if it’s the personalities on the team or what, but the DNA is so strong. It just feels like a different makeup than good squads in the past for this program.

They absolutely could. UCLA dropped a midweek to UCSB, 4-0.
UCLA isn’t getting dropped because they lost a midweek game. They’re going to stay #1 unless they lose 2 straight to Minnesota (not happening).
UCLA is clearly the best team in the country this year and they have an easy league schedule. We will earn #2 though! Legitimate shot to be #2 overall if we win out series in the league.
