Not many if any 2a schools in the East will face the caliber of competition Tarboro will face the first four games. It wouldn't shock me if the Vikings lost a game in their first four. But like I've heard coach craddock say many times, " I wanna be great in November and December"

I believe so. Although Kinston did graduate a talented senior class. They do return some key pieces however. Their JV went 8-2 last year lost to Tarboro and Wallace Rose Hill
Surely, they aren't talking smack, are they? They should know that typically doesn't end well. Wilson Prep is probably going to put a running clock on them this season. They need to worry about them first, before talking trash about us.
Unless they recruit very well, I don't see them winning more than 5 games. It'd be a waste of a opponent if Tarboro played them.
Can't see them becoming a threat to Tarboro football. The head coach is from Georgia and his son is a good QB reportedly. They believe they'll dominate here. He's poking the wrong bear though lol. They won't beat Wilson prep anyway that's who is in their conference. They had a football team over a decade ago but it folded.
He might try to recruit some kids from Georgia to move to Edgecombe County to play football.
I could maybe see that. Georgia is one of the best states when it comes to high school football though.
I’ve heard they had about 53 kids interested in playing. Not sure where they came from. They had a kid yesterday on a recruiting trip to ECU.
Reminds me of the fall of 2021. Tarboro was pretty young that year and a lot of people counted the vikings out. The end result? They won the state title. Sure this year Tarboro will be young and they may have some growing pains early on. But doubt this team at your own peril.

Yes, last year's JV team was special, and like you, I've heard we have another great bunch coming up.
Great post. I know quite a few fans of teams in the east are hoping we are down this year. I will say this, doubt this team at your own peril. 17-20 were very good teams, I definitely haven't forgotten how dominant we were. We were really good last two years as well. Overall, can't wait to see this group playing under the Friday night lights very soon.
