ON3 sucks for that…I’d love to be able to distract myself from the basketball stuff and focus on what should be a great, fresh start for UK football without having to sift through thread after thread of basketball negativity and toxicity.
(PLEASE don’t hijack this thread and make it an anti-Pope thread, you have PLENTY OF THOSE ALREADY)

I don’t think it would be good in October after they’ve lost a few straight and most posters start putting their hopes on the upcoming basketball season. Schedule really tough this year and message boards are hardly tolerable when all the grumps come out.

Like this basketball board is NOW? Speak for yourself. OR that football board could be a GREAT place in October after a big win (or two). FON3.

Respectfully, that’s one of the many benefits of having two boards. They each have their own seasons of hope.

(That being said, I look forward to a great rebuilding season under Stein whether the wins come or not.)

I don't understand why they cant just take an hour or two tops to create two new forums on the same level as this one.. one for football snd one for The Paddock. You really dont need to moderate them unless someone reports something, which is a "push" form of notification (meaning the data/info comes to you). From there its just a matter of the routine maintenance and modifying compute and database storage.

I guess there could be a cost in the compute needed to run 2 more forums, but it cant be much.

I always thought it was pretty ****** that they couldn't keep our forums with two heavily used forums. Its not like this was the Western Kentucky Baseball forum with 3 people.

They’ll tell you that they’re doing US a favor by keeping one free.

Reddit seems to do fine.

I'm sure they're paid much better for the advertisements for a national/international board versus a Kentucky football board.

Key Statistics & Business Model:
  • Revenue Generation: In 2024, Reddit generated $1.3 billion in revenue, mostly from advertising.
  • User Base: The platform has 91 million daily active users.
  • Cost Efficiency: Since content is generated by users and communities are managed by volunteer moderators, Reddit’s cost for producing content is minimal.
  • Profitability: After years of losses, Reddit saw its first quarterly profit in 2025 and is expanding into the "user economy" to diversify income.

I would like if we could flair our posts—“basketball” “football” “off topic” etc

Hey, try Reddit. I kid.

"great game today"
"today is not great, the weather sucks"
"It's not game today, it's game day"
"It's game"
"Game it's"

I enjoy reading football content, though I don’t post much. Would like to here thoughts on the spring game.

I agree. No way to chat about today’s scrimmage or the many commits we have.
