Are any of y’all also in the camp that believes many of the remaining uncommitted top prospects (1-100/150) are waiting to commit until the portal officially closes? That way they have a higher negotiating power (i.e. “I’m the best player in the portal at x position, so I want x more dollars”)

He's coming off a 15-18 season at Xavier where he picked up the pile Miller left behind in year one. Has been crushing it in the portal so far in year 2. He left UNM at 27-8. He was 75-30 his last 3 years at UNM. Clearly you don't know ball.
He's been under the tutolage of his dad, who did ok here. He's not a muppet.
Richard Pitino Jr. is a hell of a good choice for any high major program. He would absolutely crush it at UK.

This season hasn't shown much but you definitely can't say 2 years.

Didn’t compare it. You said you had never seen this at “any” school. Oh and also, last I checked, UNC, Kansas, St. John’s only have one portal commitment as well.
Difference being Self has way more equity built up at Kansas to be given the benefit of the doubt. Pope has none.
You aren’t following the portal very closely if you believe UK is the only school doing whatever it is you think they are doing. Plenty of blue bloods and big name schools with only one or even zero portal commitments.
Donovan one last swing, Lucas, Shertz, Byington, or at coach at that level. I agree established successful coaches aren’t likely to come. You could check behind closed doors. You might get Pearl for five years, I’m not so sure Golden would say no, but if we wait another 2-3 years that ship will have sailed. Had we not wasted 3 years on Pope, Luke Murray at UCONN would have been a better option, one of the best talent evaluators and recruiter in the nation.

I’ve always been upfront that I’m an Indiana fan that enjoys this board— and does not troll.
Richard Pitino Jr. has been very good everywhere he’s been, including at a Big Ten school. No, he didn’t make a Final Four at Minnesota, but he far, far outperformed anyone before or after him there.
He’s young, he’s intense, he runs modern stuff, he doesn’t take shite from anyone, and his teams play their backsides off.
He would absolutely crush it at UK and I suspect he’d take the job in a heartbeat, unlike many higher profile names that are likely happy where they are.
EDIT: and countering my post with a laugh emoji but no substance is pretty lame IMO.

Khamenia doesn’t affect Freeman at all, that being said it doesn’t sound like UConn is our biggest threat.
I can say UK expects to get one of Freeman or Wilkins tomorrow. They are trying to close those out. If we get past Sunday and we haven’t hear anything I’ll be worried.
