Eyes of Retard furious no one is arguing with him so now he's grasping at straws trying to find controversy. As always, ignore the retard, and cheer on the Hawkeyes! Great pick up, Ben!
Run the ball
Dribble the basketball

that’s about as deep as he goes.

I never actually read what he says, I just laugh and move on. It's the best way to keep the thread on topic!
I enjoy responding because I think it’s funny, but I should try this to stop letting threads get derailed. Need to get Kakert to add the 😭 react. It’s made for posters like him.

I mean no one is really replacing him. Have up most in confidence in McCollum where with a more balanced team he will adjust how the team plays but I guess should’ve clarified was more for pg depth with combs.
I always assumed it was gonna end up a committee of guards trying to replace Bennett's production. It's Center we need to f***ing figure out.

We needed a center vs Illinois, that's for sure.

With 7:27 to go and a Final Four berth on the line, IOWA was leading Illinois 51-50. Unfortunately, we got outscored 21-8 the rest of the way.

So I feel pretty good about the young man. Ben will help tighten up on the TOs but he looks like he is not shy about driving and looks comfortable shooting the 3. Also LOVE the idea of him having 3 years as he and the freshmen with Trey/Cooper can develop together.
He looks like a good player, agree on that part.

As far as the 3 year development, all these guys are potential 1 and done in the Portal/NIL era. So don't get too attached. 🙂

20 years from now fans won't recall the majority of their former "players". The 4 year guys will be few and far between.

So glad to read that Iowa is the frontrunner for McKeever. I live a few minutes away from his school. He will be a massive get for us. I don’t know how he’s going to do with the weather though. :)
I’m loving this offseason.
Alvaro managed and he’s from sunny Spain. I’m sure McKeever can handle it too.

The one and done doesn't necessarily mean Iowa will follow the same path. Recall the entire team will return next season aside from Folgueiras who came in with a big salary from the portal and didn't ultimately meet expectations. Ben emphasizes a culture where he recruits players who want to stay at Iowa.

Coleman fits the culture here to a tee. He looks like an under recruited player who relishes the opportunity to develop under a winning coach on the big stage. Ben seems very picky about who he wants from the portal and Coleman seems like his kind of kid. We will do things our own way under Ben.

I would say the 70% FT's is more indicative of his stroke, at this point, than the 41% from 3.

The release is a little low, so his competitiveness, and ability to make winning plays, is probably what has him above 40% from 3, at this point.

But his arc, as you mention, and his 2pt % suggest a nice touch on his shot. So, I think there's some upside to be developed there, as a shooter.

Coleman has plenty of quickness and handles. Also has a PG's skill set. Better than 2 assists per game suggests. Can get into the lane and make plays.

Plenty to work with. So the fact that Ben has recruited Ty'Reek twice, suggests he has the mentality to allow his quickness to translate to good D, and good playmaking and decision-making
Some guys just have a flat shot. Vince Brookins back in the day, and he was a helluva shooter. And Alvaro's shot was pretty flat too, and that often worked well. Just ask Florida and Nebraska. ;)

Maybe you've seen more of Coleman than I have. But I don't see anything to suggest his shot is flat.

At this point though, his release point seems to be a little low

I’m not sure how he’ll hold up against bigger, more physical guards. Hopefully he doesn’t end up like Maishe Dailey. It’s strange to see top programs consistently landing guards built like bodybuilders, while Iowa seems to miss out on those types.

Yeah....understand on the portal and movement. I just have a feeling about Ben that some of this won't hurt us as much as others....but that question mark will be there no matter what team I guess.
