Turnovers were out of control in the first half, and dook was not really even causing them.Heels off to a terrible start against the dookies. Getting absolutelly dominated. 3-0 dook.
This is a great point but I legit though that dook was successfully avoiding the shooting space and 3 calls better than most teams we have played by pushing the zone out farther from net. I was pretty impressed with their defensive team play.Doom’s zone didn’t get called for much or any shooting space penalties which was surprising. A couple of 3 secs I think were called. Just expected more calls based on how previous zone teams were called.
Glad we have Chloe but there were times I wanted her to take even more shots![]()
I'm not sure the RPI will be as important this year. The ratings are pretty messed up. As of last week, the Heels were #9 in the RPI rankings. Not sure where they are now, but there's no way they were the ninth strongest team in the country at any time in the last two seasons. Our last ACC loss was Apr 24, 2024: 23 ACC wins in a row. Let's get three more...
Next up is..... 8 seed dook! 11AM Wed 4/22 in Charlotte
Dook has fallen to 30th in the RPI rankings with a 9-7 record. In terms of the bubble. the "last four in" now fall in the 22-30 RPI range where as the "first four out" are in the 27-35 range. So a dook loss has a pretty good chance of ending their season.
6 Seed ND is also in a precarious position at 27th. they will face 3 seed Clemson who is 17th in RPI.
We've never seen a lacrosse player like Chloe. The combination of skill, athleticism, vision, awareness, anticipation and competitiveness is mind-blowing.Turnovers were out of control in the first half, and dook was not really even causing them.
But is pretty amazing we can open with a D- first half, respond with a B- second half, and still dominate dook.
Humphrey scored 7 goals and 3 assists, 5 of her goals were unassisted. Our offense was trash all game but Humphrey just said "I got this." She is averaging 9.5 PPG over the last 6 games, The reigning NPOY is actually playing at a higher level.
they said MT was ahead (by 1) after Chloe's first goal. then she scored 6 more. NW has finished regular season, having played 2 more games than UNC. But NW has a bye to the semifinals in the BIG10 tournament, so they will only play 2 games at most in that tournament.I thought they said that Taylor was leading in goals during the Duke game, but it looks like CH is now in front with 79. Did NW finish up last weekend? Because I thought they said she had something in the low to mid 70's, and she has 74 on NCAA stats. CH is solidly in the lead in points. If they win the title, then she's gotta be a lock for NPOY. If, dog forbid, NW does better in the tournament, I'm wondering if they'll give it to Taylor. Undeniable that it's Chloe's to lose.
I understand that sentiment but dont like to wish bad karma on the Heels. We were going to be successful with or without her and her playing time would have decreased this year. I can't fault her for leaving. Just didnt work out team wise.Let's all laugh at Marissa White.
One of these days, I fully expect to see a Chloe shot go through the back of the net.Crazy how many generational players UNC has had across the sports spectrum over the years...Humphrey another in that long list.
I expect to see a Charly Bruder shot go through an opposing field hockey player’s body. One of these days, I fully expect to see a Chloe shot go through the back of the net.
