As for the Saudis ending backing the LIV, I believe they got what they wanted from it in a PR move many called sports-washing and now that type of PR isn't needed .
So now it's more of a business decision concerning what they do with the LIV than trying to boost the image of Saudi Arabia now that the issue that put them in a bad light is mostly forgotten and the displease that country was receiving because of it has just about disappeared from people's minds.
Spending the type of money they were on keeping the LIV tour alive isn't worth the cost anymore and the Saudis will help it a little ,financially , but not like before and let the LIV sink or swim on its own

As I mentioned in the PGA thread:
LIV has its moment when the merger talks began. LIV needed to pivot and become the team league for professional golf and compliment the PGA. This didn't happen and it started to fade away.

Regardless, every PGA player needs to thank LIV, Greg Norman, Phil M, et al for finally forcing the PGA to making those massive concessions to players (which if they were more reasonable to begin with, the LIV would have never existed in the first place).

Said it the first year and each year since. I don’t care how much money you have. You don’t look at an asset continuously losing money and continue investing in it.

The WNBA is the only entity I’m aware of where that isn’t true.

LIV’s corporate sponsors can’t feel like they’re getting much bang for their buck either. I don’t see how LIV can survive much longer in anything like its current form.

It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens with DeChambeau. He’s reportedly been asking for a lot.

It’s about as watchable as the WNBA, it’s horrifically boring and has zero competitive drama

The PGA was forced to take care of its players because of how the LIV was throwing money around, that's just about the only good thing the LIV accomplished, when it comes to golf .
I just wonder what would have happened if the LIV just played a team format and treated it like the NFL,NBA & MLB
does braking it into divisions ending with a championship round between division winner .
Working with the PGA to do that instead of being in direct competition .
Greg Norman made out like a champ, seeing his competitive golf days were far behind him and being the face of the LIV put him back in the limelight.
Phil Mickelson did well for himself as well, his days at the top had wound down and the LIV paid him a bunch so they could have a golf HOF member playing on their tour and being a PR spokesman for the LIV .

Bad idea from the beginning. If you follow golf, you know that new talent arises every year while older talent can fall off the cliff. Look at Cam Smith. Great young talent who hasn't done anything since leaving the PGA.

Agree. Certainly in the for profit world. Reason 1 thru 100 why Men's football/basketball(+) need to be cut-off from the rest of the athletic department. You can't manage for profit and Title IX under the same umbrellas any longer. Time to separate it all and build some actual governance around it before people get completely fed up
