I mean if Aberdeen is, why not OO?
Hell in today's environment if you don't play 7-years you ain't trying. Whole thing that's going on now is a Sad, Sad thing in College Sports. The monies are outrages and the Product {hate to say; especially } our Sucks at this point. The NCAA is a total Joke & the Kids, Agents and Hanger-ons are ruining the game no matter who/whom you root for. This is a Factory environment & a CEO is basically a requirement to keep the train rolling. It's totally out of hand! And truth is I'm & ole' guy and I don't care if you walk on my lawn, we'll just sit down and BS this thing out!

I in my younger days was an All-American in Baseball & Basketball and the best I got was some occasional meals & some good educational support that made me successful in life. Still playing today at 77 and in 2-Hall of Fames.

Hell I might check my eligibility as they may have an exception for old people!

You definitely weren't an all American in the classroom

He was never injuried n set out… Aberdeen is claiming he was hurt his freshman year I believe n didn’t play
Incorrect. Aberdeen did play in 12 games his freshman season, and ALL of the remaining seasons. He never had a serious injury, and he never sat out a season.

He’s now arguing that his first season shouldn’t count (despite the fact that he DID play in a good chunk of it). I hope he fails. The dude played in 119 games over four seasons …averaging nearly 30 games per season. That should be considered a full CBB career for anyone.

In theory, any player not expecting to get a shot to sign an NBA contract, is going to be "seeking" a 5th year. Some have better cases than others. Some are just hoping they make the rule of 5 years total. True 4-year guys might have a shot.

I can’t imagine his waiver request will get approved. He was healthy, he just didn’t play much because he wasn’t in the rotation. Played 12 games, mostly mop up minutes. If he wanted a redshirt he should’ve redshirted that year.

If the 5 year rule is approved for all players, I’m guessing it will take effect next season (though I’m sure players from previous years will take that to court). But if it did apply to the current graduating class, Oweh wouldn’t need to apply for a waiver anyway.
