I really do not follow these soap operas too far, but I read a lot. I believe the "victim" had a part in this final decision.
I have no issue with this sentence. 18 mos of probation is a bunch for a first offense, and if I am not mistaken no one was really hurt.

Like I said, I do not really follow this stuff, so my above thoughts may have factual errors.

I have lived a pretty wild life, and only ever got arrested for selling encyclopedias. The guy had a breakdown. I have been close over the years over a stupid girl. Girls will drive you crazy if you let them. I think he will not re-offend nor violate probation.

edit: Michigan sucks

18mos probation. Tell me how that's fair again? Why not 18mos in prison?
Why would you expect laws on the books to be followed? The proper thing to do is squeal about making new ones to take away the constitutional rights of innocent people, get your **** together.

felony breaking & entering is usually 2 years minimum in prison. tack on brandishing weapons and this is clearly a light sentence.

.. and it was DV

Not at all shocked he got away with it, and we all know why. But we act like we don't.
I am not going down the rabbit hole.

As I said, I think the lady/victim was heavily involved in the mitigation.

Mental break downs are treated somewhat different in some cases.

I have no issues with the sentence, and am out on this subject. We have different opinions.

I haven't read a thing about this - but maybe the girl didn't want to testify or pursue?

At this rate, Swalwell will get 3 weekends of community service.

I am retired and as such read all the time. Anything bad about Michigan I read further. Hence my knowledge here.

His "deadly weapon" was a butter knife, and he had a key to her door. The fact that no one was hurt, and it was an obvious break down are the prime reasons he got probation.

As I said earlier, girls will drive a man crazy. I have been close myself at 20 years old.

There needs to be a much better way to remove piece of **** judges. There are plenty of them and there is so much authority and power to just destroy peoples lives yet they continue to be allowed to be on the bench even though everybody knows they suck ****.

You can get away with anything in this country if you have the money.

"Shiver reacted to the sentencing, telling PEOPLE it "does not reflect the harm done to me""

I highly doubt she supports 18 months probation based on that.

If he started winning and was an assshole about it that would be enough for many here
guess that begs the question: how much could/would a fanbase or university be willing to overlook if the coach and football team were in the playoffs most years, constantly contending for a title, winning one or two or three each decade?

less than Joe Pa, maybe a little more than Urban Meyer
I could get behind that. There are certain lines that shall not be crossed, I agree.
Shoot, I think Kirby Smart and Georgia have pretty much made that line at Joe Pa. They're already fine with everything else under the sun beneath that line, including manslaughter.

unceremoniously fired and ostracized by his alma mater for having a heated argument with his cheating wife.

In fairness, if the rumors are true that it was a girl that she was cheating on him with, he deserved to be fired and ostracized. Just for being mad at her for it instead of joining in on the fun. Anyone that incompetent deserves what they get.
