How in the hell does he still have eligibility?? Enough of this garbage, he'll be 27 at the start of next season (which in Cuban years probably means 30) and this will be his 6th year in "college". He's a perfect example of why we need a5 for 5 rule.

They are giving out 6th years due to injury like candy these days. Have you not been paying attention? Also, were you this angry over Kemerer's 7th year?

Is it really a problem if you are told all along that we try to recruit the best guys and you will need to compete for a starting spot? I can't believe a recruit would not be told that, and if if not told that, they would understand that they need to compete for the position. If they did any research during their recruiting they would see that. Other coaches would have certainly told them they could get recruited over at PSU. So they know coming in and choose to come and compete as they believe they are the best. Big nothing burger that other are brought in. Beauty is that these days they can transfer right out and find a new home easily.
Maybe you should be addressing your Penn State buddy who acted like Iowa shouldn't be recruiting provo because of deluca. I know you pus sies get your feathers ruffled all the time, but I didn't say it was wrong of Carl to keep recruiting all weights.

My guess is he’s looking at how high Ben will be rated next year and my gut tells me he’d beat up on Ben in the practice room. He’s just so much more athletic fast and stronger than big Ben. I see him having a better chance of placing high or winning it more than a 197. Just my opinion. I just don’t see big Ben beating Mo.
There is no way that is remotely accurate. Endene is 5'10" and I'm probably being a hair generous there. He's also going to have a hard time being in wrestling shape above about 220...he's actually probably going to have to fight to stay at 220. He's going to give up 3-6" in length and 25-40 pounds in almost every match next year. Ferrari was the only heavyweight AA that weighed under 230 this season and he's 6'-6'1' with elite, elite takedown defense (I think he's only given up like 15 takedowns in his career).

Endene will be more athletic than most heavyweights...but he won't have 197 pounder athleticism at heavyweight. He's going to lose some of that as he puts on weight. It takes a helluva lot more out of you to take down a heavyweight than it does to take down a 197 pounder. He's not going to be able to ride heavyweights like he currently does...he's giving up too much length and it's not easy to do a mat return. And most importantly, he's going to be in the bottom position in most matches. Rocky Elam is 3" taller and was able to ride him like a mule. Most heavy weights are going to be at least 3" taller and all of them are going to be a helluva lot heavier than Elam is. That's going to take a ton out of him.

It's one thing to roll around with Ben and to work takedowns with him in practice. It's something entirely different to be competing with guys Ben's size or bigger every single match. Endene is an AA-quality 197 pounder. He's going to struggle and need some breaks to make it to the blood round at heavy.

Dumb decision by Endene

Not angry at all and the Kemm situation was admittedly ridiculous looking back... but it also included the covid make up/free year(s). The sooner 5 for 5 is implemented the better. We don't need 27 year olds competing against 18 year olds in collegiate wrestling.
The fact there are programs willing to write him a check at this point is a sad commentary on the state of the sport.

I say why not go all in, spend the money it takes on whoever, regardless of their past transgressions. Bring in Provo, Zepeda, AJ to 197, Echemendia, have Gabe drop to 165, bring in Jaxon Smith. Put on the "we hate you too" warmups and embrace being the heel. This version of third place would be much more entertaining.

I am all for five and five. And I am all for age limits. But until then… I’m not one to throw a stone in a glass house.

Smith and Gabe, both former 197 pounders going 165 and 174 would be something.

Arnold was a candidate for 133 until Crookham committed.

Idiots. lol

Easy little guy. We disagreed on Iowa recruiting Provo. My propping up delucca isn't getting feathers ruffled. Calling me or other PSU fan pussies is you being exactly that. I'm not sorry I have more faith in leo delucca than you do, even if you're an Iowa fan and I'm not. That's all. No need to get all hot and bothered and start talking out your *** in ways you'd never do in person.

Don’t see Ben letting Mo get any points other than perhaps a stalling point. Ben’s defense is way too much for Mo IMO.

125 for Iowa isn't a worry . Don't believe everything you read.

If there is one thing I have learned here it’s that if you talk about extreme weight cuts enough they just might happen. Bowman, Grothus, Young.

On the other hand we do have the biggest what if ever in Caliendo that did not happen.

You are ignoring the 2,000 other ones people have mentally masturbated about over the years. (And nevermind 2 of those went poorly.)
