Let’s also not forget about Noelle Bofia. She’s been on campus a 100 days now. If we do indeed target a 5— that shows the staff does not expect her to contribute to the level expected to win at a level immediately. If we’re satisfied. They think we are going to get enough collectively from the 4/5s— and with added length elsewhere— can see more position-less rotations.

I am hoping both Bofia and Thomas can make strides and contribute next season at the 5.

If you go back and look at early season (Stanford Game) Ciera seemed to have more bounce in her step and game. I am wondering if the pounding of playing down low (her best position) took its toll on her energy
level. Versus Stanford CT was excellent, scoring, blocking shots rebounding strong.

My hope is she will return to that level with a good summer of work and rest.

Toomey appeared on two consecutive pregame injury reports as "questionable" around about the time her minutes and production dipped (This was reported on the "Carmichael Radio" podcast)

This happened again during the NCAA tournament vs W Illinois as reported by RL Bynum on the threads app.

Post game, Toomey stated she was managing a foot injury that occurred in practice.

Toomey was not on the injury report in the Maryland game.

To your knowledge or opinion is UNC still inquiring about players or is she set on her lineup?

I do not know of any announced visits and so far that is the only we we have found out who we are recruiting.

In my opinion, based on no info, I do not think Liza was cleared to make space; we have not done anything like that before. Whatever reason she left was not for recruiting.

In my opinion, there is no where we need depth or a serviceable ACC starter anymore, but we could use a star player just about anywhere except PG. So I hope any further inquiries would only be for a top portal player or unsigned 2026 recruit.

Portal pick-ups:
  1. none?
Coach Roussell is being introduced as the new coach today. He has his work cut our for him... The good news for UVA is I don't think any of their players in the portal have announced a new home as of yet.
Looks like Olivia McGhee is withdrawing from the portal and will return to UVA

If she goes to TCU, LG might be coming off of the bench.
That is certainly a possibility. TCU loses every impact player from their roster who played this year, so they are basically starting from scratch. No ranked HS recruits coming in.

They have 5 transfers coming in so far. #34 portal ranked Wooten from OK St slots in at PG, #11 ranked Grant at SG, and #17 ranked Somfai from Stanford at PF. the WG and C are still TBD. the other two (#39 Bella Hines & unranked Hjelmstad) are probably backups at guard, but Hines will at least compete for Grant's spot.

If they can land her, #6 Jordan Lee is a guaranteed starter at WF. #2 Kymorah Johnson will also start but can play either guard spot. She played PG at UVA. Basically Wooten, Grant and possibly Hines would compete for the other guard spot beside Johnson.

One of the good things about how our team for next year is we have big strong women in basically every position.

It is going to make us tough defensively if CB can work her magic. Plus we will hard to guard with aggressive
tall strong women at basically every spot. Lastly we should be real good at rebounding the ball on both ends.

Notre Dame's KK Bransford just entered the portal

So ND's returning players are now:
  1. 5-7 Sr PG Hannah Hidalgo ACC POY
  2. 5-8 Sr G Kelly Ratigan, 8.0 mpg, 1.4 ppg , only played in 17 games
  3. 6-3 Jr F Bella Tehrani 2.5 mpg, 0.4 ppg, only played in 8 games (walk-on VB player)
  4. 5-10 Jr G Luci Jensen 2.2 mpg, 0.3 ppg, only played in 12 games (walk-on)
  5. 6-2 Fr F Leah Macy who redshirted this year for knee injury, #19 recruit 2025
So for the 2nd year in a row ND will effectively rebuild from scratch around Hidalgo.

2026 Recruits: (Top 5 recruiting class)
  1. #12 6-2 SG Jacy Albi
  2. #21 5-10 CG Jenica Lewis
  3. #22 6-2 SF Anari Byles
  4. #24 6-2 SF Bella Ragone
  5. #79 6-3 PF Isabella Sangha

Was looking at Louisville’s roster for next season and they are stacked with the talent they are returning plus the incoming transfers. They are going to be loaded at the 1-3 positions. Do they have an obvious 5? Will be curious who starts and what line ups they run. Think they’ll challenge everyone in the league again next year and are probably better than last year, at least on paper.
