All of our targets are committing elsewhere.

Stay tuned for Wright, Stokes, Freeman, and Diallo also committing somewhere else too!

But knowing Pope, he might overpay Diallo to claim a recruiting victory, when next to no one else wants an average PG from a losing team. Except for Pope👍🏼

That will end all hope.

But some good news is Aaron Torres said on his podcast last night “I would’ve very surprised if they don’t get one of rob wright and zoom diallo” because Arizona was the other school to watch for zoom diallo but they picked up two guards out of the transfer portal (jj mandaquit- Washington , and Derek Dixon- North Carolina) who can both run point and are reportedly done getting guards out of the portal because they have a five star point guard coming from the highschool ranks (Caleb Holt). So hopefully we will get one of the two of wright and diallo.

They are dropping like flies folks. Magoon Gwath, Devin vanterpool, Brett decker, dink, pate, miles Byrd, all of those were Kentucky priorities and they have all committed elsewhere.
We lost Dink AND Pate? Holy Crap. Have we lost Rob and Wright? Zoom and Diallo? Tyran and Stokes? If we lose those six we will be in real trouble

I already see it coming. We will get only Diallo and they will try to spin that as a positive. Diallo is just an accessory piece. We need Wright, Stokes, and Freeman

Yeah Brett decker, magoon gwath, and Myles Byrd weren’t necessarily priority targets, but they were targets
I’d say almost none were priority targets lol. Maybe you could argue Pate with how much contact we know about with Pope.

The casting a wide net Musselman style was always destined to look bad for the whiff king.

The bigger thing I worry about is just the amount of names left on the board that Pope could sell to fans is dwindling and demand is still sky high.

UNC, KU, LSU, Texas Tech, and others come to mind as needing a ton still and having a lot of money still saved up.

Louisville, UConn(frontcourt), SJU(frontcourt), Duke, Arkansas(frontcourt) all each project to make significant additions as well.

As long as we have money and there are players out there, I won’t get overly worried. But I call portal season musical chairs. The music hasn’t come close to stopping but there are less chairs lol

The KY world is beginning to look bleak, to say the least. Pope needs to find a hat with rabbits in it ... QUICK !!!
It appears the BRAND is not what we would like to believe it is ... not right now, at least !!! Geez ...

I wish I had a rabbit in a hat with a bat
And a six-four Impala

Pope probably wishes he had some recruits .

I don’t think Gwath was a “ priority” maybe as a backup. I also think the eligibility issue with Pate was a complication Pope didn’t want to deal with. Don’t get me wrong I’m not pumping sunshine but can we at least be honest with this stuff? He has a few days to right the ship but I’m feeling less confident by the hour.

Gwath looked like an extra from the movie The Air Up There with Kevin Bacon. He didn't move the needle.

Torres knows jack - he recirculates news.

At this point, there has to be a social dilemma out there where kids entertaining Kentucky don't want to come because everyone else is backing off. Who wants to be the first to commit to a guy no one else whats to play for. Tis the issue with volume recruiting.

UK has to EASILY be the program entertaining the most amount of recruits. It's like a factory belt. Pope is probably going through the motions with his corniness.

Fielding a roster won't be the issue once Pope has to go into the bargain aisle - the issue is putting a team together with any kind of targeted plan. It'll be the bad news Bears out there, again.

At this point I would just go out and sign 7-8 guys who are ranked 100 or lower, give them the opportunity of the lifetime and see how they respond to the challenge.

It's a make or break season for Pope. What else can we lose?

I know it looks bad at the moment but saying all our targets are signing else where isn't suprising

You have like 25 targets. They all aren't coming here

I think the writing is already on the wall for 2027.
Stokes won’t come here and there is diluted talent remaining to build a serious contender.
What a freaking disaster.

I don’t think we were seriously pursuing a lot of the names you listed. More backup options.

However, anyone not concerned we haven’t secured even a single of the main targets at this point—Stokes, Wright, Diallo—is kidding themselves. Still time for Pope to make this work, but he’s on the clock and I don’t know anyone who is optimistic at this point.

I will just chill out and hope for the best. Not gonna lie the pearl clutching by some on this board is a little much. If it turns into an epic disaster and we are headed for a repeat, or worse, than last year I will right on board to make a change.

At this rate, Noah will be the starting pg next year! And Pope will claim it’s all part of his master plan!

Portal season is definitely not off to a good start but not of these guys were priority targets.
