I understand but he must’ve not put up much of a fight and counter offer a bigger price. He did the right thing. We can do a lot better and if we can’t we’re in more trouble than I could imagine. We’ll get a good backup center.

No body who has started 50 games at a school like SDSU Wants to come to Ky & be a backup or a Bench Piece. Most players good enough to play in RUPP have always been starters at every level. Some guys relish the 6th man role but no one wants to be # 9 thru 12.

No center in the portal that wants to be a starter is realistically going to come here. It is no surprise that they’d use UK (or any other school for leverage). The second Malachi announced his intention to return (barring a high draft grade), any center that would be viewed as a starter was off the table. Gwath was a backup level talent that was more than likely offered a starter role (and money), and honestly with his inconsistency and injury history, I’m glad he didn’t even make it on campus here.
