2026-2027 Minutes Thread

Are we likely to get a player to replace Astakhova?
If so what is our biggest need? Get the best player available?

I do not know exactly how many minutes Gabby will get next year, but what I do know is she does everything well except the shoot the 3ball which I am sure her mother and CB will be working on in the offseason. She rebounds the ball on both ends of the floor well; she has a high IQ of the game which is expected since she is a college coach daughter. She can handle the ball well. She plays defense well. She will hustle back and contest the shot if she gets ripped unlike some players on our team who would not do that last year. Mark my words, she will see the floor every game. How many minutes is yet to be determined.

Think it’s clear that we could use a high quality player that can play the 5.

I really hope Nyla Brooks takes a giant leap her sophomore season. She has all the tools and all the talent to be a star and she has shown flashes during her freshman year! (probably my favorite player on the team lol) Nyla and Harpring and a healthy Reniya and the newcomers buying in to their roles (Burrows shooting, Clardy being a dog on defense and dishing, and Akot grabbing boards/being a physical presence ) is what will take us to the next level. Toomey and Blanca staying healthy and putting in the work this summer is also key. They need to own that PF/C spots and carve out space in the post and hold it down. I think they have so much potential for growth going into next season.

I feel like our ceiling is higher next year but lots of new/uncertain pieces tbd. I would feel a lot more optimistic if we landed another high impact post like Nunu Agara or Big O, or Sarah Strong (lol, manifesting) but damn, I don't know if we have the budget for that! Ugh, is it next season yet?!?
