Can we all agree a coach has to either have previous success or a realistic trajectory for future success from now on? If you've lost a fanbase than it's time to move on, 90% of fans didn't want Pope in the first place, so why are we forcing it? Also, Pope being a former player, this won't end well, it's just too emotional.

which big team has fired a coach after a sweet 16 and round of 32. I mean our fans get bad names. Our recruiting has been crap and popes attitude after losses last year hurt his image. If he can't turn it around he will be gone but no body I know has fired a coach after that no one. That is being real.

yeah but last year he lost in first round,64 and lost in first round year before 64 and didn't make it his 2nd year. They didn't fire him after title game or year after. Plus you see how much trouble they had finding a coach.
last year we missed on people we got aberdeen and lowe instead of dent, and Wilkinson. Dent wasn't leaving west coast and indiana hired his coach. We missed on others too I am sure.

One of the reasons I was so pissed on what transpired was I sure he would land Dybansta. And his second biggest weakness (coaching being #1) was solved by NIL.

The early tourney losses were embarrassing, but it happens to everyone, including K. For a long time, Cal was actually the guy that always overachieved in the tourney.

Were you following it when Pope was hired? The initial reaction from the entire fan base (including the people who run this site) was a unanimous "oh no..." Then we all of course had to get on board, and we did. 20,000 at his press conference and 22 million, he had all the support.

It was plain as day Pope didn’t have a snowballs chance in hell here halfway through this year. We all pretty much suspected that the minute he was hired but now we know. Hell he’s been no better than Billy and Billy was a drunk mess. Pope doesn’t even have the drinking as excuse for why he’s a failure. He only got year 3 because Mitch is a nutless coward.

Pope was celebrated by a large portion of BBN. That honeymoon is over. He has to produce another 22 to 24 win season to get year 4 . If he gets to sweet 16 - he gets another 1 year extension . I for one will not cheer against Ky so Pope can get fired. Might be a “Loveless Marriage “ but a Marriage just the same.
