Truth. They wouldn't want guardrails, and any guardrails added won't come without a big fight (see MLB and the salary cap in '94, and maybe this coming offseason).

when they canceled the World Series because of that labor dispute, that about destroyed MLB, imo.

juiced balls, steroids & home runs brought the fans back

And how do you form a union. College seniors are done so they are not included. You have high school junior and seniors getting paid.

tough to get a group of people together in such a tight window. Also, who are we taking about? All of DI? Many of the hot transfers are from small conference schools.

also, the elephant in the room is you will lose in court trying to limit endorsement money. Yes, endorsement money includes the b.s. collectives. You going to have a committee decide if a payment is really an endorsement? Who defines market value? It’s not tangible. You are worth what somebody is willing to pay you.

Tightening up the transfer ls is about the only option and I am not sure that survives a court battle.

I doubt the schools can even stop collectives if they tried. Going to audit a college kid’s income? Going to audit their parent’s income?
It took the ncaa 3 years to penalize the FB for tampering so I don't see them ever really doing anything but lip service.

And the toothpaste is out of the tube.

Now, every time the NCAA tries to put up guard rails, they get sued and lose.

People keeps saying that there needs to be a CBA (collective bargaining agreement) but why would the players sit down & negotiate a salary cap or anything else that puts restrictions on what they currently are getting?
The crap that is going on with college sports, big payments etc, and then they take away 4 wins from Iowa for talking to someone a bit early. There is tons of tampering going on and yet they catch Iowa with a friendly phone call.

100% agreed - used to be big fan/followed the white sox, but after that strike never again cared for mlb. I even had luke warm interest when they won it in ‘05…😎

Where is Louisville getting this fortune? Someone should do a little digging.
ajor corporations in Kentucky are heavily concentrated in healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing, with top companies including Humana, BrightSpring Health Services, and Yum! Brands (headquartered in Louisville). Other massive employers and companies include Toyota, Ford, Amazon, Texas Roadhouse, and UPS, which operates its major air hub in Louisville.
