Found an interview he did after his title. He talks about mindset, cutting too much weight, injuries. Sounds like he will be a 133

Glad to have him!

Watched that last night. A few things stood out.
Only 17 years old as a senior in HS.
Tore his UCL (elbow) as a sophomore.
Tore his ACL as a junior.
Said he hated wrestling due to weight cutting and not being great with his diet.
Beat a returning 4th placer, another 4th placer, a 1st placer, and a 3rd placer on his recent title run.

All of the above points to having much more upside remaining in him.

Yeah, it's a crazy story. Not sure what his overall record is, regardless the Hawks thought well enough of him to bring him in. Either way he's competition in the room and if his upside is still trajecting upward that would be great.

He had zero offers before the state tournament, and then took an official to Rutgers and had some other options. He said "my phone definitely rang, but not as much as everyone thought it would". Then he walked into his Head Coaches classroom after signing with Iowa and his Coach (looking for some Iowa gear) told him "my shirt size is a large". 😂

Welcome aboard young man.
