Why is it only Iowa that gets hit for these things? Because we self reported? Seriously had to be a bunch of coaches that did the same through agents or directly. Yea pretty much. Never ever work with the NCAA. They just punish you harder. Look at what Michigan got away with. Then look at what they slapped Mizzou with when they self reported that a tutor did some homework for a couple players.
They dropped it to .595 already, and these vacated wins don't count as losses so they won't have a much affect.

The harshest penalty the NCAA could have inflicted on Iowa would be giving McNamara 2 more years of eligibility at Iowa.

We believe the decision of adding the penalty of the forfeiture of wins is unwarranted. The matter is now closed, and we have moved forward.”
