Good pick-ups, but might be a costly one.

Let's hope Mia makes a jump in production and becomes Rutgers go to player , bringing the team success , while her sister Mya shows she developed into a big time player.

>According to Brian Fonseca NJ.com, Rutgers bundled a significant NIL package to land the duo, with the combined package totalling somewhere around the mid-six figure mark. Mia and Mya are considered pioneers in the world of NIL, as they were the youngest basketball players ever to sign an NIL deal with Puma in September 2022 when they were just 15 years old.<

I love this pickup, Madhat. I look at it this way: At Tennessee, both women gained valuable experience, and I'm hoping they make up the nucleus of a new resurgence in the RU women's basketball program. I also like the Jaylah Lampley pickup as well. She's a tall guard who can score.

The athletic department is very willing to pony up and invest in women’s basketball. They’re going to aim to be a big player in the sport’s NIL space.

That's how you win running a college sports program and I'm glad the RU WBB program now is in that game ,instead of paying on the cheap.
Maybe the glory days will return in this pay for the players era

Smart. It realizes RU women's basketball can be a money-maker. Fans are looking for a reason to return to the RAC. Crowds topping 4,000 were common pre-Coquese. So nice to see the program has a pulse again.

I love this. Congrats to Gary Redus and staff!
This is that energy and urgency to ascend that I was hoping for when Coquese started. Recruiting Jersey and this metro area can take us to a Natty. Tap into the wealth of talent spilling out of LuHi, CTK, Westtown, and the like in addition to the usual great talent from all over Jersey.

Coach is knocking it out of the park with this start.

Very circumspect post from the young woman...or from someone representing her. I'm impressed...and very hopeful!!!

Go RUWBB! And, after all these years, the women may lead this program (and entire department) out of the wilderness!
Everything will be great…as long as they are winning.
