So usually when a player Skim posts a gif for commits they write “so and so YOU are a so and so”

Skim hasn’t said anything for Carnegie.. could Skim’s post be for another player??

To follow up.. Rashunda Jones committed tonight to Arizona St.. Skim posted the Arizona St gif 2 days ago then retweeted it after Jones announced tonight.

Tonight Skim posted a gif after Jan posted a gif already. Carnegie announced and Skim never followed up with the normal catchphrase.

Could just be Carnegie.. could be more.. just speculating!!

Sure would be nice to pick up a killer 3&D and some depth in the paint. Hope getting Carnegie opens the door to clarify things. A lot can happen after players find out their value in week one. Still hoping for another upgrade target.

The Deal hate is disappointing. And we will see if she was a bad fit. No guarantee Carnegie will be a great fit.

But let’s not assume TS starts at 3.

Maybe MW is a perfect 3 and Journey shines at 4
No Deal hate. Nobody hopes she fails. Well, she is a Badger so maybe a few 🤔. In any case she's gone so we've all moved on. There is also no doubt that Carnegie is a much better player today than Addie so why shouldn't people see this as an overall win for Iowa?

I'm pretty confident that the starting lineup next year looks like:

1 CCW
2 DC
3 TS
4 JH/MW
5 AH

Now we need a few more quality guards/wings for depth and we're set.

I don’t think they get McCowan to come off the bench.

And I don’t think Journey is spending the offseason preparing to play the 4.

Best version of Iowa is MW is legit and stating 5 iS

Chit Chat
Dani
McCowan
MW
Ava

JH and TS and LH and 2 portal guards. This is best version of Iowa.

Your best version of Iowa always seems to be players you've never seen play a college game. This year it had to be Addie and we all saw how that went. Not well.

MW is probably going to have growing pains as a freshman and Journey was the second most efficient player on the team last year. She might come in and kill it day one, but that's more the exception than the rule.

McCowan hasn't played against anyone in her college career so it remains to be seen how she performs against high level competition. She's also coming off an injury that limited her to only 10 games this year. Stremlow on the other hand played great against high level competition.

Great? Come on man. She wore down big time ina starter role.

I’d focus on Iowa elevating. Not protecting a player.

Dani hasn’t played for Iowa either. You have her as starting 2g? Of course you do.

Elevate. Always.

Let’s see who JJ signs. If MW isn’t legit than the 4 is a huge issue. I’ll just predict that she is.

Not a better defender. not really a better 3pt. Shooter. Stremlow has only gotten better, and I suspect she will continue to improve her game. Been playing against B1G competition for 2 years now.

If Iowa brings in a lock down type defender or a great 3pt. threat, that would be what replaces Strem.---i.e. Speiser or Thompson.

Any chance JH starts at 3? It seems that’s her vision.

Dude you're being ridiculous. Its like you never watched any of the games after your favorite player got benched. Stremlow played great and her statistics support that assertion that she was easily the most efficient guard on the team. You're automatically pencilling in a player from a weak league that you've never seen play and are calling it an upgrade.

Dani is starting at the 2 because we only have 2 returning guards and she was an All SEC first team player as a 2 guard this year. Again, you're being ridiculous.

The 4 is still the biggest question mark in terms of personnel, but I'm fine rolling with Journey/McKenna if that's where they end up. It's not a "huge issue" in any case.

You watches different games down the stretch or you didn’t watch at all. TS wore down big time. She’s not a starter. You just didn’t watch or pay attention. She wasn’t a starter at the beginning. Wasn’t a starter once TM got hurt. JJ even said she’s a better 3 because she knows she’s not a 2. They had to recruit over her. And they did big time.

But you have consistently advocated her over the team. You just lost.

I think Lit is a brother or Dad. He's butt hurt. Put him on ignore. I did this morning. Let me ask everybody, if you have a neighbor who is a pain in the arse, what do you do? Of course, you stop talking to him. Ignore that whiny, little pr!ck.

He's definitely been fixated on Deal since the start of last year and it hasn't ended now that she's gone. Maybe he's a Badger fan now?

I really don't understand all of the talk about who is going to start, like what difference does if make? TS will get her minutes starting or not and the same for DC and MW and probably others.
I'm guessing it matters to the players. The only reason it really matters is because the minutes typically correlate with your position in the rotation. It does happen, but it's relatively uncommon for players coming off the bench to average more minutes than the starters. Most coaches like to stick to a consistent rotation. In an ideal world the most effective players always get the most minutes regardless of that, but we don't live in an ideal world. Bmac was one of the few coaches I've seen that liked to do this. He stuck with the same starting lineup all year, but he'd almost always pull his starting PF Manyawu and insert AF, and then manage their minutes based upon how effective he was in that initial stint. Their average minutes were almost identical at the end of the year and the only players he stuck with game in and game out were Stirtz and Koch. Jan did a lot less of this, resulting in very large discrepancies between the starters and backups. Maybe that changes this year if players like TS, MW, and JH are all performing at a similar level.

By going to Wisconsin, it seems there probably weren't many, if any, quality options for Deal.
Not ones with guarantees. UNI with Levin maybe. Glad she's gone. She aint no Kate Martin

My guess is you will see great improvement offensively from JH, better 3 point confidence and midrange. Journey will likely transfer out next year if she can't find a better fit than last year.

Journey already has a lot of confidence in her midrange game. If she improves her range out to the 3 point line that makes her a very versatile player that could be effective at the 3 or the 4 providing minutes at either position carving out a nice role for herself. She already had the second best PER on the team along with Hannah as a freshman.
