Ironic coming from the site’s king of stupid opinions. In the old days when I cared more, I’d argue and try to get to the bottom of why people had stupid opinions and agendas like this. But nowadays, hey if you want to trash O’Connor/etc. and contribute to general Emm Stake toxicity, knock yourself out.
That's one thing bout them turntablesI think we're going to contend for Omaha this year. It's annoying as hell, but it's 4 games and we were one or two plays from winning all of them, just like all of our other losses but one.
We've had a lot of really good teams that finished strongly, go through mid season stretches like this. I'd be more worried if it were obvious there was a big divide between us and the best teams, but it's obvious we're very close to the best teams.
The worm will turn...
The slide started with the introduction of 1878….Overall, we're pretty close to where I thought we'd be right now. But the way we've gotten here is completely different. I thought we'd have played more like we're playing now in the first 6 weeks of the season and we'd be be playing more like we did in the first 6 weeks by now. This team is much better than it's playing (and has played) and I don't see any real reason for it. I mean, yeah we did lose our #1 starter, but he's really only missed 1 start so far. And really, pitching has mostly been ok during this slump. It's hitting and defense that's the problem.
You aren’t wrong. As impatient as we all are, Jay Johnson brought a ton of transfers year one but didn’t really get elite until year 2. I hope he finds his Skenes, and I also hope Ace is our Jacob Berry. It's year ONE.
Nor is the top. Jacob Parker is really the only one who doesn't look lost at the plate. The middle of our batting order is not producing.
Parker is going to be a star, but he has struck out multiple times recently with a runner on 3rd & less than 2 outs.Nor is the top. Jacob Parker is really the only one who doesn't look lost at the plate.
The only positive spin I can put on it is if we are going through a slump now is the time. How many times have we come out of the gate strong and then crap the bed towards the endOverall, we're pretty close to where I thought we'd be right now. That is a big problem, the bullpen is a problem, starting pitching is a problem (Tico not included), catching is still an issue, and middle infield is a problem. Other than that we have great team! The bats we we’re counting on to produce aren’t producing.
