If I had to take a half educated guess, I'd say that Collin wanted to stay. Wife probably wants to move back to Utah and wants to stay there, which precludes most NBA teams and any international pro prospects after college. To financially hedge on this, Collin needs to make as much in college since he might not get to play for anyone outside of the Jazz, which is far from a certainty.

I don't blame him for following the money and wish him the absolute best of luck. Wish he was able to stay.

There's no place like home, as much as we'd like to think people love Kentucky, we're from here, it's our home, his home is Utah & he wanted to go home. I'm sure he enjoyed his time here & the new friends he made.

Best of luck Collin!

So, I guess Pope needs two 2G’s now… Any SEC level guards out there on Pope’s radar? All I’ve heard about are PG’s and a stretch 4 or two.

Probably out on zoom and a crystal ball for Thomas to Houston. I would still rather have Hill Jr

The wife always wins. I would have really liked him back but you have to make a business decision sometimes. Richie Saunders and Collin Chandler, Utah wives ain't leaving Utah.

Poor Pope. He recently went on a tirade against the fanbase on FB saying how you weren’t a true fan if you criticized the players (I’m only slightly paraphrasing) and he drew on Chandler as an example of one targets for said criticism. Basically said Chandler and the rest only deserve our praise for always trying their bestest.

And while I have historically been critical of coaches, I have been generally shown the players a lot of grace. That all ended when NIL made them highly paid professional athletes. That doesn’t mean I want to line them for the firing squad, but constructive criticism that points out their basketball related flaws, failure to meet expectations, and lack of loyalty are all fair game.
