Thought this might deserve its own thread
I want to say Stokes and Pope would be oil and water, but this morning on the way to work I thought of Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson. Two polar opposite personalities but it worked. Am I fishing for reasons to think it can work? Idk maybe

I really think this season comes down to this commitment, you add pieces around him ie shooters along with MM & KW then that’s a solid foundation. If he’s “him”, then you let him cook and post up then run things off that and through him.
If we do not get him, I do have concerns about top level transfers coming here. I can’t say I have confidence in the game plans etc if we don’t have a “him” on the team.

Anything is possible. But I just don’t see him wasting time to and making a visit to UK just to get more money. He could do that from his living room chair. He is that good.

I’ve been a downer on Stokes for awhile. However, after watching more film of him, I’m intrigued. His passing skills at his size is incredible. Put him at top of key and run your offense through him. He has a good enough jumper to keep the defense honest. Surround him with shooters. He’s a playmaking machine and would thrive in that role IMO.

I'm told the Nike deal and MO Williams relationship with Jamal Crawford are keeping us in the game. It's still 60/40 70/30 Kansas but Pope has a chance and Stokes wants to listen. There's hope, we are offering a bag, chance close to home and of course it's UK, but it's on Pope to close. There's a chance!

I mean not really, this means JS in the big scheme of things, Pope met with dozens of HS kids, how many of those did we get.
Saying we wont get him and saying we have no chance are entirely different. If he wasn’t still considering Kentucky he wouldn’t be visiting this late in the process. Obviously still in it. How much in it, who knows.
