Something along these lines follows logic and the rumor mill both.
Which is wild. ISU is having major financial difficulties and this is going to cost them serious $$$. More Pollard mismanagement.
For better or for worse, Gobblin's been around here for a long time.
Comparing any of us to a noisy magpie like Mineo is a little unfair.

Poor minnow, he went through the trouble of making up the fancy graphic and everything.
Regardless it's a bad look for ISU, this info is obviously coming from somewhere and now you have the sitting head coach having to deny he's stepping aside.
Metcalf retired from competing and accepted a job at USA Wrestling. Then like a month or so later he got offered a huge bag to be an assistant under Dresser. Then after Zadick was let go he became top assistant.
Gobblin has a pretty good track record. Not sure what credibility you have

The glue eaters here can’t square the circle that Dresser saying he’s not leaving ISU doesn’t mean he’s remaining HC or that Metcalf isn’t being elevated to HC.
Pat has had some swing and miss moments for sure, but he is pretty good at bringing news out very early. He broke the Nick Suriano to Rutgers story a full month before it happened. Willie backing him makes it pretty much confirmed in my mind. Willie probably knew of this before Pat but had enough tact to let ISU release it as they wanted.
No one said he was leaving ISU. All the posts we've seen said he was moving to a different role within the program.
It sure sounds like the story is true but ISU has undeniably botched this... again.
Say what you will about Willie but there’s a large chasm between Willie and Pat Mineo. Mineo gets some good info (as I suspect this info is) but he’s gotten enough bad info over the years, and been exposed so many times as a fraud, the respect he gets from people is incredible.
I like Willie when he reports good things for Iowa. I dont like him when he doesnt.
Have they officially announced who the next head coach will be and what dressers role is going forward? Stuff like this getting out with STILL no official word from the university is botched.
Do they need to, to not be botched. Especially when Gilman comes on board? Cmon man the hawks need to do something better. Fan base is dwindling

See if Metcalf can make magic as a HC if in fact he is going to be the guy.
It might not change his compensation but it most certainly would change the language in his contract. That aspect will get redone.
I think tomorrow is when Hatcher’s podcast interview with Dresser is released so it makes sense.
