Metcalf promoted to Head Coach at ISU

Not a real shocker, but a little bit of a surprise in terms of timing. Does this even up ISU and U of I in terms of head coaches?

Good for Brent. One of my favorite former Hawks. Time will tell if he makes for a great HC. I think this is a wise move for ISU. Brent could wrestle, now we will see if he can recruit and manage a wrestling team just as well.

Big move by ISU. Congrats to Metcalf, that's a very legit program to be given the reigns over. Wonder what the assistant staff over there is going to look like.. wouldn't be surprised to see him go after at least one decent name assistant coach in this transfer.

Maybe he can actually make their wrestling program relevant. Wasn't this year supposed to be their best roster top-to-bottom in decades and they finished what, 8th with zero national champions?

Just think Iowa lost a dual to that irrelevant program. Sad times for the entire state of Iowa wrestling. Both programs are stagnated and UNI failed to produce a single AA. One top recruit in this year's senior class and he is heading to Oklahoma.
Oh I get that. But we're at our rock bottom as a program and they're supposedly in their glory years... and we nearly doubled up their team point total at Nattys.
I don't think Iowa is at rock bottom.....yet. 4th may look really good a couple of years from now. Without some serious portal help that could be next year.

Brent should have been added to our Staff when he quit competing. All the TnT nut huggers said how do we know he ca coach out of one side of their mouths while saying Warner will do great out of the other. That is why no one can take them seriously.
