This can’t be right, lots of the so called insiders said he had to enter the portal to apply for another year but really loved and wanted to stay at UK!

Denzel himself said that he is re-enrolling at UF to get his degree. That does actually make sense to do while he waits to see if he can get eligibility. Probably a lot of classes didn't count.

Oh I agree, this was just said buy some on the radio show, including his GF as reason to come back.

Cam’Ron Fletcher is getting a fourth senior year. At some point you shouldn’t be eligible for college ball.

Edited to add. With Fletcher getting a 7th year, it’s almost a lock DA gets another imo.

Fletcher has been injured in 3 of the last 5 seasons. Since his first year, at UK, was the Covid season that doesn't count.

What's interesting about him is that his injury occurred in exactly his 30% game for both his "2nd" yr at FSU and his "4th" yr at Xavier. His injury kept him out of his "3rd" year easily.

Aberdeen was never injured, which it seems the NCAA has a soft spot for (like with Tyon Grant-Foster), but I don't care if he gets his waiver. It would only make next season more interesting.

Funny move, I guess it's like the 13 year pro who gets a 1 day contract with the team they spent the first 11 years with so they can "retire" as a (in this case) Gator.

He shouldn't but somehow he will. Seems like zero rules in college basketball right now.

Cam'Ron Fletcher has been granted a seventh year of NCAA eligibility due to multiple season-ending knee injuries during his college basketball career. He began at Kentucky, transferred to Florida State, and later played at Xavier, but his time was significantly impacted by injuries. The NCAA considered these factors in granting him an additional year to compete at High Point

Just shows the whole thing is a mess. Gainesville is a great college town & he couldn’t wait to get out of Lexington. Pope is getting such a bad rap , that true or not , he’s just getting hammered by the visuals.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if I read “The 1996 National Championship banner has signed with Seton Hall citing Mark Pope is a great guy but wants to be closer to the Meadowlands Arena.”

Wow.

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

Still, this doesn’t help things optically for Pope (discounting money consideration).

CC was not worth 3 M plus his wife ran her mouth all season long she was getting him back to Utah. She has his balls in her purse.
I can absolutely hear the argument that Pope did it to himself by overpaying everyone last year. I’m with you — regardless — you can’t afford to pay anyone who isn’t your star $3M

As he should. He, along with Mitch, have made a mess out of this program. It is not just players jumping ship. It is players, coaches, media, and fans.

Aberdeen probably isn't going to get another year. But if he were to, it's not going to be here. The program is definitely in a real bind here from a retention standpoint.

If Pope doesn't drastically turn this thing around this year, I'm ready for him to receive a swift kick in the *** back to Utah.
