How Confident are you on Pope's 3rd Year Portal Success

Kentucky, and Pope, deserve some luck this year after everything that has gone wrong the past two.
But I'm afraid that...
I think Pope will get a class that looks pretty good on paper -- slightly better by portal ratings than last year, not counting Quaintance who was a net zero. The money is certainly there.
That gets Kentucky elevated to top 15-20 status in pre-season polls. But ALL these guys are a crap shoot moving up from mid-majors or coming in from Euro leagues or even Top Twenty high school recruits. Does a guy over achieve like Amari Williams or disappoint like so many?

Who knows at this point. Going to have to trust Pope to pull this off, or dig a deeper hole. Time will tell, and getting/missing Stokes is not necessarily the end all be all.
I think he should pass on Stokes. The guy clearly doesn't want to be here and Mark is just wasting time.
expectations are so screwed up. imagine landing 2 top portal players and then adding stokes and its only considered "high-moderate success".

I’m more of a see how it shakes out and evaluate the finished roster type.
Gut feeling is middle of the road class, no Stokes, next year will be a struggle unless the pieces fit exceptionally well and mesh quickly.

So little natural drawing power, in on everyone to see what sticks by throwing money. Can't be selective enough to have a plan, because he just needs players.
Either he does great and we get back to playing and competing with anybody OR he shanks it and we are 21-13 next season. He knows the deal. I hope he kills it, BUT to be honest, I’m not worrying about it. Life’s too short.
I kind of feel like he’s gonna do well in the portal, but it’s a shame overall that the game most grew up watching is no longer what it once was. It’s nothing more than a circus now.
I like a good argument as good as anyone, but today’s game has caused lots of people to be bitter with each other and that’s no good.

I had to hit every interval and make options interesting. The first one is where he gets stokes and gets everyone he wants. SMH
Hope he turns it around, although I really doubt he will.

Contrary to belief by some on here, I’ve been cheering for Pope since after his press conference, but the data is in, and the facts speak for themselves…
He has yet to win a recruitment for a non Kentucky recruit in HS, has signed zero 5*s
(JJ wasn’t one), and has yet to win a recruitment for ANY of his first priority portal transfers…
But, I’m the a-hole on here posting lies and hate!

Honestly and this is not just to crap on Pope but at this point it is what it is. He missed on all his hs targets. Recruited dink pate the last several months and lost him to Providence. It's not looking good. Of course he will sign some guys but it won't be the talent needed at UK. Another mediocre season.

Didnt cast mine because I'm somewhere in between. A few ok transfers and no Stokes. Not a total whiff, but nothing that tells me we will improve from the past season.

I don’t feel that any of your options are what I would expect. Also, it’d help if you define what a top portal guy is: top 10, top 25, top 50 etc. Almost all of your options are with Stokes. I think we are likely to have a top portal class (LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR) but I do not think Stokes will be a Cat.
Well, I’ll say it again, unless the KNOW that stokes is coming, I’d take the top 3 that I can get NOW.
If we landed Stokes this bunch of negative A holes would flip like a switch, and be the Pope pumpers they give other fans s.hit about.

I said "Moderate", however I think we don't get Stokes (thinking it's a 60-40 KU lean). But I think we get a couple really good players and 3-4 solid complementary guys. But 1 really good player short of "high-moderate success".
You do realize that landing Stokes isn’t a recruiting win? It’s a monetary win. Stokes has made it perfectly clear that UK isn’t his preference.
No I didn't realize that, I personally wouldn't want him, because of your reasoning. But if he goes to Kansas, who wins then? Pope has a no win situation.
But if Stokes did go to Ky, you do realize others would follow right.
How he was unable to sign even one top HS player borders on being surreal, he backed himself into a situation to where he’s 100% reliant on the portal, and only Moreno for returning players is starter material and even he wouldn’t even be a top 25 big, a debacle on all fronts.
Even if he paid Stokes enough money to come to UK, he wouldn't know how to coach him. His coaching sure doesn't impress anyone. If all he can get is mid major guys to fill out a roster we are in trouble again. I really don't think any good players want to play for this goofball analytical coach. Brace yourself for another mediocre year. Funny how the other programs are starting to land players and we have none. Lost out on all the big name high school prospects. That should tell you something.

Part of going to college is being able to understand how data is presented, the bias of the questions asked, and if the results are valid or not.
It is clear your questions are set up in a way so that you will get the results you wish to receive.
The problem with the questions is that all the "good" results include getting Stokes. Then, you only have one "bad" result, which is not getting Stokes PLUS whiffing on the portal.
Anyone with one intelligent brain cell would be able to understand the way you created this survey is not valid. The results completely rely on whether UK gets Stokes, or not.
It's entirely possible we miss on Stokes, but take all the money reserved for him to dominate in the portal.
Noone knows right now. My faith and trust in Pope is also not great right now. However, I'm not a big enough hater to go on a paid forum, and create a manipulative survey, with the sole purpose of making Pope look bad.
