Damn, isn't his dad on the staff at Dinwiddie? Varina just eliminated Dinwiddie from the 4A state title chase. It appears to be Varina-Huguenot looking head and shoulders above the rest of the field. Varina also got Duece Mason(Trinity Epis) and Markus Lee(Hermitage) to transfer in. Though I expect them to take a step back in the trenches, their skill talent will be just as unstoppable as it was this past season. Boisseau playing slot with Wyche returning at QB? Jefferson Forest returns a good bit from their State Semi team. Loudoun Valley is another team out West I'd keep an eye on. With that said, I can't see anyone in Class 4 other than Huguenot staying with 28 of Varina this fall. The Lewis dynasty has begun!

They picked up a baller out of Caroline county as well. Blair Morris. They are extremely deep in the skilled department and just need the trenches to be solid and they will be back to back champs

After last season I would’ve made the argument that Huguenot had the advantage at skill position. But with these transfers, Varina just added to a already loaded skill talent

Zion's father is no longer on the coaching staff. He stepped away a few weeks ago.

Sheesh the rich get richer. But I would be surprised if somebody doesn’t try another investigation into their players. But im also confused about the New VHSL rules. Shouldn't these guys end up playoff ineligible?

I guess it you can't beat them, then just join them. Damn. As a former athlete from the late 70s early 80s in the 804. There were very little transfers if so it was military families moving. Today it's the norm. I wouldn't never want to join a team who beat the **** out of us 2 years in a row. regional rivals at that. It's a new day.

As long as the family makes a bona fide change of address, he would be eligible immediately for regular season and post season. They would just need to show proof that they live in Varina's school zone and that the previous address has been sold, rented, and vacated by all family members.

People outside the program will speculate but nobody at Dinwiddie wishes anything but great things for Zion. Dad is doing what he finds best for the child, whether we like it or not, that’s their decision. Nobody in Dinwiddie is sending investigators to Henrico about the legitimacy of the move nor did anyone at Varina recruit him. Coach Mills and his staff sent well wishes to Zion and Devin and Dinwiddie is preparing to make a run with who they have. They have some big time young guys. Big time news that one of the best players in the state transfers to the best team in the state, no news that there’s any ill will towards the father and son.

What is outraging is Petersburg recruiting the Dinwiddie players. All types of messages and messy stuff floating around. Petersburg really is a joke of a program.

Dynasty is a very huge stretch. Varina has a very good program but last year’s team will be very hard to replicate. Those guys had been playing together all of their life and there isn’t any Bull Richardsons, Braylon Hoods, or Jayden Walkers on any front 7s in Class 4 anytime soon.

For sure know Dinwiddie will keep chugging along. But I'm sure some other teams in the area are sour on that move.

While it's no way they replicate last year, I don't see a real challenger in 4B at the moment. I don't think Huguenot can really challenge them even with all of their talent.

I'll define dynasty as 3-peat or better. Their JV was unbeaten this past year, only HSHS and Benedictine kept spread within 28 points. HSHS only jV to beat them the last 4 years. I don't think it's a stretch for them to win it again this fall and have opportunity to go for 3 in a row. The 10U-12U talent coming up in East Henrico has some big boys. The fact that Varina beat out HSHS for some of those better Rolfe Middle this past summer means they will keep the talent coming. Couple that with the fact that Lewis is so likeable, if they win it again next year more kids will transfer into the winning program and the ball will just keep rolling.

Love Coach Mills, don't know the kid or his dad and by no means wishing anything negative. As you said parents make decisions in the best interest of their child. Generals still should be 8-9 win team. Will see by November if they have anything for Huguenot or Varina. It is HS football and anything can happen. Wish you all well.
