I don’t think this is crazy or unrealistic or unreasonable. You have to set a high bar and define success as minimum Sweet 16 consistently with years where you are elite enough to make a FF and compete for a title.
What do you think defines success for BM and the men’s program? He wasn’t hired just to get into the NCAAT.
Can you name another coach that has taking their team to 2 championships in consecutive years. That is part of Jans resume. I know you like to ignore that.

You mean she wants to come coach at Iowa- thats news to me, please don't be an imbecile. I didn't think she was interested. Of the coaches you have bantered about - which 1 got fired (tells us your quality of assessment), who has a better resume in the last 5 years than Jan who does get to count to national championship games under her belt.
Can anyone truly verify what resources Iowa has compared to the “elite” colleges and other Big Ten schools? As much as I love the Hawkeyes, I don’t believe we are a “destination“ that most top portal players and recruits envision. We need cash plus an opportunity to play and grow as our selling points.

I'm curious, are we recruiting Mia Woolfolk, Dani's running mate, as well. It would appear to be a positive tactical move on the part of the Iowa Staff and she is a power forward who is 6'3". Woolfolk averaged 5.4 rebounds, 13.9 points and shot 72.25 from the line. I would think/hope the staff would go after both. She could provide strong competition at the 3 or 4 spot.

That would be great but half the SEC is after her from what I've read so it will a pretty tough pull. Hoping Carnegie likes what she hears and I would be ok with Hare also as a top bench option.
She's a really good looking player, but I'm not sure that the staff is looking to invest a lot more in the front court given the heavy guard needs that still remain.

Kate became a really valuable player but that may be a stretch. You have to factor in how much she, Monica, Gabby, and certainly Hannah, benefited from Clarks gravity. Would they have had the freedom to play their very best without Clarks presence? I think not....
I'd say Lucy Olsen was most definitely a needle mover. If they got her what's keeping them from another? The answer is nothing.

Respectively, I understood this thread to be about transfer portal news/updates. You're discussing roster mgmt, mins etc in theory with incomplete info. None of that is relevant to whether or not the staff is pursuing certain players and how that is going. That is happening whether you agree or not and that is what I assume ppl are coming here to discuss

This is an insane standard. Only UConn and SC have made the S16 or better for the last 5+ seasons. So you think Iowa's floor expectation is the #3 program in the country?

I can't answer for him, and I've supported Jans hire, BUT, if we don't land several impact players, you'll really have to wonder, where this is going. This last recruiting cycle we land ONE player( A very good player) and struck out on a handful of quality guards. Now we have 7-8 open spots between graduations and defections. Its all there. NIL money, playing time, probably even starters minutes for some, crowd support. This portal season, will certainly go along way to define just what Jan is selling, and if these recruits are buying it.

I find that extremely hard to believe. You recently had the absolute best ever Woman's Basketball player who has ever lived, and you'd be incredibly dumb not to mention it (like they don't know, maybe the cave didn't get wi-fi). I don't believe for a second that Jensen goes on and on about Caitlin Clark while talking to recruits. Nobody compares, so why bother, you aren't turning into her regardless.
These are females we're talking about as well. Half of them might be more concerned if they can get their nails done in Carver before games. Feelings are in play here.
