I did not see any official announcement yet. Kleizaster broke the news first, perhaps they have inside intel.

I presume it to be true as she has tagged UNCFH in her instagram bio!

I can see D’Ariano’s Insta bio with UNcFH listed but no post. No story anywhere I can find. That is certainly atypical.

Mark my words: D’Ariano will be every bit as good as Erin Matson. I do not think this is a bold prediction. I think she is better right now than anyone in college.

Any season she is healthy and wearing Tar Heel Blue we will be playing for titles.

Of course that may not be every season.she will likely be on the 2028 Olympic team. while the Olympics themselves and most of the tourney and events leading up,do not directly conflict with the NCAA schedule, she may choose to take a gap year in 2027 much like Sessa did.

That might be a possible reason she has not yet made an announcement. She may still be deciding if she is a 2027 or 2028 commit…

Part of Sessa’s gap year was that we had to qualify, no qualification needed when we host.

Very true. But we don't know yet if USA FH will require the whole team to train together for the year prior the the Olympics anyway, mirroring what brought some success last time.

In terms of when D'Ariano arrives at UNC I have mentioned 2027 and 2028 so far. I guess we should also throw out there 2026 as a possibility. She goes to an online school so she certainly is not attached to HS friends, prom and graduation. She may be accelerated in credits towards graduation. And she is certainly ready now for college level hockey. It would also accelerate her college graduation well before the 2032 Olympics, a quadrennial where we will have to qualify.

That may be a part of her decision as well.

Been hearing about D'Ariano for a couple of years. Can't wait to see her in that gorgeous Carolina Blue.

What a huge pick up. I just read the article. She is going to look good in that Carolina blue. I like the fact that she will have a teammate from WC joining her as freshman. Congrats to Erin and her coaching staff and be able to get her to commit to UNC. Go Heels! I will definitely be rocking one of her NIL jerseys.

~18 y.o. from Amsterdam, Netherlands. She plays for one of the Netherlands' elite clubs: Hockey Club Pinoké based in Amstelveen.

Imme is active on the Netherlands Noational U18 team as recently as last summer where she scored a goal in the Eurohockey championships. The Dutch won and Boere captained that team

her call up:

Championship article:

Stats from the Eurohockey U18 championships:

This appears to be a major addition to our team. Similar to Boere this past season, I would expect de Leeuw might start right away.

Shoutout to Erin who is taking the team on a tour of NYC where they are meeting with lots of corporations on how to succeed after their college days as well as how to use their playing days to build their brands.

I am hoping that Erin and Staff can convince a few of the corporations to make a donation to the FH fund. That would be nice and very helpful. I like what they are doing to help the young ladies on how to succeed after their playing career is over. Go Heels!

Are there any videos you can post of the U21 games? If so, can someone post some for us to see? Thanks.

Game 3 vs Mexico in a half hour (11 AM Friday)

Free stream:

edit: USA wins 13-0, D'Ariano 5 goals, Anetsberger 1 goal.
D'Ariano leads US team with 9 goals in 3 games. Anetsberger is tied for 2d with 2 goals. D'Ariano is also tied for the tournament lead with Chiara Ambrosini of Argentina. No one else on any team has more than 2 goals. Coach Matson needs to offer Ambrosini a scholarship!

Wow, that is very impressive for a high schooler to be leading the US team in goals. She is out performing the college players on the team. She is no doubt a generational talent, phenom, etc. I am so glad she chose us. Go Heels. I forget Anetsberger is already a Tarheel. Do you think we have a shot of getting her sister to come who I think is still in high school?

I attended the Spring game today in Durm. I don’t know the players well enough to say much about who did what, or which new players, if any played. The game was fairly close, but dook won 3-2. Shots were 15-14 dook, I believe and saves were about even too. We controlled the 1st Q, scoring first on a PC, and then earning a stroke. Unfortunately, the stroke was pretty weak, and was saved, or just went wide. We will need to find a replacement for Sanne for those. Dook controlled the 2d Q, scoring twice, first on a hard backhand shot from just inside the arc, then on a ball centered from far out wide that a dookie dived for and deflected into the net. The 2d half was fairly even. We scored on a rebound in the 4th Q to tie it. About midway through the 4th Q, the ref blew his whistle on a play in our defensive arc, and signaled for us to have a hit coming out. Dook requested a video referral. Who would have thought they would have that available in a Spring game, but they did, and he reversed himself and awarded dook a PC. They passed the ball back to the inserter who was unmarked at the post, and she redirected it in for the winning goal. We were assessed a yellow and a green card during the game, and dook, I think, had only 1 green. Their first goal came when we were a player down.

This will be our toughest year yet under EM. I trust our coaching staff will work out the kinks. Once our international students join the team, that will help fill the deep void of Ryleigh and Sietske. We obviously lost more than just these two studs - but they will be felt the most.

We have a few playing with the USA team that did not play yesterday. I think these scrimmages are good because EM and staff are able to see which players will be able to step up since a few players are always called to go and play with the USA team.
