Sounds like he was asking for too much.
Thing is he’ll probably get it somewhere to. I’m sure he was offered a very nice deal to stay here but that extra 100,000 must be more important to him. Money has ruined this sport I love soo much. Anyway, I know we’ll get someone just as good and probably better but he could’ve really been something to the fans here. Best of luck to you Colin, wish nothing but the best to you and your family.

with pope/brown not matching, my guess they felt chandler wouldnt take that leap forward in order to justify the price. maybe chandler does, maybe he doesnt. but the vanterpool kid at FAU is a total stud, scores it at all three levels. 35% from three, 78% from the line, good defender. you probably cant get that kid as a backup if chandler is on the roster. but for the 3M chandler was looking for, that value is there with a kid like this and now the door is open.

i'm sure there are other players that fit the profile as well. pope and the staff need to find them and land them.

This guy was the most frustrating to watching out of all our players due to how much playing time he was getting. I didn't understand the coaching staff's willingness to stick with him. Early in the season they thought he was the guy right behind Oweh, how so wrong they were. He is not a Starter for a top 25 team. 6th man at best. Dude was often out of position on defense and buckets would routinely get scored on him to the point I think he was actively being targeted by the other team. While athletic in some aspects, I found him more of a liability on defense. If he had anyone athletically competent guarding him he became a non factor on offense. He was a good shooter if left open, but he couldn't break his man down on the dribble one on one. If he got pressured taking the ball up the court, good night. The kid has toughness I'll give him that, and thats why I think fans endured to him and Noah. Wanted more money then what he's worth from what I'm hearing. I think we will be better off.

Pope can’t even hold on to the Utah Mormon guys. Geez…

Bad look, but there is more talent than CC on the boards. Just have to secure it (whiffing needs to end),
I’m hearing Ritchie Saunders is ready to make us forget all about the players that are leaving. lol. Probably false but I’d sure be all in.

Because we lost a bench level player?
It would be a joke if Pope matched his demand.

Moreno literally turned down a massive offer to come back to UK for less than half the offer, that's much bigger news than.losing a shooting guard that can't dribble, defend, or create off the bounce.

if he wants $3m to play , he's going to get his wish, no one is going to contact him
I'd bet he doesn't want 3 million to play elsewhere. Just Kentucky......which should tell you what? It's like someone nagging me to sell my home constantly and asking me for a number. Fine....I want 10 million! It's not a sincere price. It's just a "leave me alone, I don't want to sell to you" price.

What do you mean? Derick's post literally said it.

He's just simple minded. Mormon plays for Mormon coach = only player he can connect with. Anything to cope with the fact Jasper is asss.
He was also the only white American player of any significance as well.

I wouldn’t just dismiss the possible racism of the post with the out of the Mormon connection personally.

This is one guy who I thought would be the canary in the coal mine for CMP’s next season. If he stayed I figured maybe there was a chance he’d turn it around. If he left I fear that even CMP’s most devoted player doesn’t believe he’ll make it work next year. I guess we’ll find out who he replaces him with but the grass isn’t always greener as they say.
He isn't leaving because he doesn't have faith in Pope.

Chandler would be an ideal 6th man. He has gotten better all throughout his tenure at UK, so he could be a star starter is he keeps improving. I expect that, but think he would have been great off the bench next season. He gave his blood and sweat on the floor as a Cat. I wish him the best. Seems like a good sincere guy.

I highly doubt sticking it to half of rupp rafters ran through his head, lol.
You never know. Guys get buthurt on here and don't let it go for years at a time because they disagree over Pope. Imagine getting called some of the names Chandler does and having your family send you that **** daily. You might not leave over it, but it might cost the school any loyalty the player had to you

Hard Disagree, dude was a stop gap, and we didn't have better talent on the team.
Not for 3m not a pope Mr softy fan at all but if what is being reported is true then pope made a very good call. Chandler will do very well at BYU but he could not afford to make that mistake

I wish the people that believe this 3.2 million dollar story would really sit down and think about it, considering what great players got paid last season. No way chandler asked for that kind of money and expects that kind of payday.
