PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers Athletics is bringing back the annual merchandise Spring Cleaning Sale, giving fans the chance to stock up on Scarlet Knights gear at major discounts during a two-day event at SHI Stadium on April 17-18. Fans can shop up to 80% off merchandise, including t-shirts, crewnecks, hats, shoes and more from brands such as Adidas, Champion and Nike.

The sale will run alongside two games for Rutgers men's and women's lacrosse against the Penn State Nittany Lions:

  • Friday, April 17 (Men's Lacrosse)
    • Doors open at 6:30 p.m. | First Faceoff is at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 18 (Women's Lacrosse)
    • Doors open at 3 p.m. | First Draw Control is at 4:30 p.m.
The sale will be set up at SHI Stadium on the north concourse between Gates C and D and will remain open through halftime of both games. The merchandise area is free and open to the public on both days; admission to Saturday's women's lacrosse game is also free. Fans can park for free in the Scarlet Lot.

Friday's men's lacrosse game requires the purchase of a ticket. Fans who make a qualifying purchase amount of $50 or more at the sale will have the opportunity to receive a discounted game ticket to the men's lacrosse game for $15.

Given how many people showed up for the sale last year, this sounds like it will be a disaster. there were 100's of people & they waited in line for hours............ how can they open the doors for the sale at 6:30?

Why do they call it annual when they havent done a Spring sale in a long time?

They did it last year, but it was on a Saturday and the doors opened early. It went on all day. The photos I saw showed an absolute madhouse

A friend of mine cleaned up. Probably purchased $1000 worth of stuff for under $200

This is what's frustrating. This is the easiest thing to do as a season ticket holder benefit. Do a 1-hour season ticket holders only beforehand. You can have people pre-register.
I'm not a season ticket holder and agree, this should be an absolute for at least the first few hours.

This is confusing. It says the merchandise area is free, but it's inside the stadium during a game you need to pay to attend on Friday. Is there a separate entrance to attend the game?

I was there for the last sale. It was an atrocity.

Too many resellers. People who couldn't care less about Rutgers buy a good portion of what's available. They then make a quick buck by selling the items for a tidy profit on eBay and other platforms.

There will be a TD Club event at the stadium from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on 4/18. Club members should get first crack at the merch. They are diehard fans and deserve a nice fringe benefit for being a member.

Wait.
The gates will be open at 11am?
So, in all likelihood, the Spring Sale is going on at that time as well .....which is NOT mentioned in the original press release.

The gates will open for the TD Club event at 11 a.m. The merch won't be sold until later.

I live an hour away. If this was a season ticket holder benefit, I'd sign up and go. But I'm not making the effort under these circumstances.

For those that wait in line and do this, I hope you get some good stuff.
