Why wasn’t Gavin credited with a triple? Perhaps it will get corrected by on goheels.com the official box score has him with a double. Feels like that play was incorrectly scored if that stands.

Did a little more research and general rule of scorekeeping is that sliding off the bag does not get you credit for the base reached. Rounding and getting thrown behind (and tagged out) would give you credit for the bag.
So, based on my little bit of research, it looks like a double is the correct scoring.

You are correct. The play was never called safe/out until after he was tagged when he slid beyond reach of the bag. Sort of a "it ain't over until it's over" scenario.
