NIL has spread talent top to bottom in the SEC because all those programs are spending and want to be competitive

I have to think the NIL situation will be different in 5-10 years. Big time donors funding it all are going aren’t going to like laying out 10’s of millions of dollars year after year to not win championships. Because only one team wins it all despite dozens of teams spending as if they are going to. In a normal situation, salaries are driven from revenue. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a situation where huge salaries are driven by donations. Makes me think it won’t be sustainable long term.
The "talent spread across the conference" argument was always made for why the SEC got more teams in than everyone else. Turns out that with the expanded playoff, that narrative turned out to be false.

I understand exactly what you are saying. I just disagree. You think the SEC talent got spread out. I would say they got exposed by including more non-sec teams, regardless. My argument is all those years would have been different with an expanded playoff.
Interesting way to look at it. I would argue the the players were ready for NIL and took advantage of it. Not the NIL/Boosters for the SEC teams.
