Relying on a 5'11" guard to replace Hannah's rebounding is a recipe for disaster. Not at the same rate when you compare ten minutes a game and thirty minutes. Sorry that just doesn't fly.
The thing Journey CAN do is work high post. She has to be accounted for which creates space for Ava. Guard Journey and she can go rim. Back off and she can hit the 15 footer. I like putting strong guards in the high post sometimes though.

Hannah is 6'2" and was a rebounding machine that averaged 9 rebounds in 31 minutes. Theres no denying that. Journey is 6' and averaged 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. It's not inconceivable at all that Journey could raise that to 7 or 8 per game with the additional minutes. That's hardly a disaster losing 1 or 2 rebounds per game worst case, but we'll see what happens. Maybe Jan moves her to the 3 but she hasn't shown long range shooting to be a strength as of yet and that's also going to require adding a skilled forward from the portal. Skillset wise she's really a 4 today.
Journey isn’t legit 6 foot.

Says sharpshooter. I’ll take an article over message board poster any day. In either case she is a depth piece.

Lol Eickholt has about as much credibility as a warm pile of shat. Same guy who said Kaleena Smith would be making an official visit several weeks ago. Also a king of Hawkeye hyperbole.

Another guy that everyone should simply place on ignore.
Grow up man, seriously. We should all sanctimoniously agree with everything you say…like you are some treasure trove of wisdom? As soon as someone disagrees with you or holds an opinion contrary to yours the solution is to block them or publicly ostracize them? Did you ever leave high school mentally?

This place is crawling with university burner accounts trying to steer every conversation away from the real problems with this staff and roster. That is not fandom. Real fans call out what’s broken and speak their mind.

And if your move is to block anyone who disagrees with you, grow up. That’s not strength, that’s insecurity. Life doesn’t hand out participation trophies just because you can’t handle a different opinion.

I haven't check her actual 3 pt stats, but the article says she's near 50% over her career. Looks like sharpshooter to me if that's correct.
Near 50% in transition specifically

37% overall for career and 40% this year on 4 per game. Best year shooting was as a Sophomore at Marquette 42.5% on 6.7 per game.

Calling out top 10 program takes some balls though, so be ready for the pushback.

I feel Jan is very confident in McKenna's ability to rebound. She has length and very good jumping ability. Strength will come over time but she positions herself well. What I love about McKenna is she faces the basket and has an A+ jump shot. Definitely a three level scorer.

Please do not post articles from the 247 site on here.

I’ve already covered Kenzie Hare with an article of my own.
Well did you call her a sharpshooter

Correct. I spend a lot of time on those pieces.
Fair enough - I get it. This is your job and I fully understand the economics. At the same point discussing a potential target for wbb and utilizing online sources for information makes it difficult. I have been asked no less than 6 times yesterday where I was seeing other information. You have all the right to market your article - at the same point at this time I have an inability to read your article. Maybe that changes in the future (I become a paying member again) - but your article isn't accessible to everyone on the free forum, so its not quite the alternative you promote it to be. I won't link another 24/7 article.

I’m not trying to force you to pay to read my article. People don’t subscribe for a number of reasons and I’m not here to argue any of those reasons.

People are also going to read other stuff, that’s fine, that’s going to happen. That being said, I feel like we cover Iowa WBB better and more in-depth than any other site and I know the work I do to be able to say that.

Keeping competing sites links off of our boards is the only ask I have. I can also fact check any stats that you have questions about.

He's just being a Richard.

Talia Goodman has reported that Lara Somfai from Stanford has committed to TCU. (Building TCU's program doesn't help us with Jordan S. if she is choosing between Iowa and TCU). Did Iowa ever contact her? She would have been a perfect fit and a beginning entry into the international market. Tennessee women's basketball is falling apart yet they have a committment from 5'9" Avery Mills who shoots 43% from the 3 point range. Aren't we looking for 3 point shooters? More and more of those women who have hit the portal do so with a "do not contact" tag. Again, to be fair to JJ and her staff, all appears to be quiet for those of us outside the circle, but the portal movement is fast and furious and it will be embarassing if we don't attract strong women to our "culture".

I think you are referencing the wrong person. I have made a statement or two, but I have not put you on my ignore list, that has been other individuals who have stated it regularly. I just continue to show the idiocy of some of your positions LOL - like Jan being on the hotseat and we need to contact Bluder right now out of retirement :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: .

None of us really know what's happening behind closed doors. Maybe let everything play out before declaring gloom and doom? There is a TON of talent in the portal. Iowa will be just fine I'm guessing

No doom and gloom here. College basketball is now big business and curious how our investment is paying off. To be sure, there is a great deal of talent available; more important question is whether JJ and Iowa will be a major player in gaining some of this talent. I am not anti JJ, I am very pro Iowa; however, as a quantitative realist, show me some results. Last year's recruiting was a bust. Our one recruit,McKenna, will be great. I have seen her play several times. Her father is a class act and he will do anything to help JJ and Iowa. We need two of the top players and then 2 or more subordinate players to maintain a strong roster.

Hannah was great but she put a ceiling on our offense with her lack of shooting.
I would agree with this to a certain extent. Hannah was the second leading scorer on the team, but she obviously struggled shooting the ball. Her poor free throw shooting was a big problem because of the volume at which she shot them. The high-low was less effective because the defense would leave Hannah at the high post to double Ava nearly every time they ran it and Hannah rarely made them pay. That shouldn't be the case this year with Journey and McKenna.

Seriously this is what is wrong with this board. There is 2 way street on commitments, schools have to be interested and players have to be interested in the school You already seem to be crying wolf after a handful of commitments and utilizing Mills to Tennessee as if it is a big loss. Her shot is decent, but she also did that 43% in CUSA. Not the same defense she would see in the B1G. As to Speiser, its hard to say which direction she will be going. Its clear she wants opportunity and financial reward. TCU could be an option, as well as Iowa. TCU can only take so many players. They just filled 1.

Jan will find some players. We are looking for 6-7 commits in the portal. No need to be Negative Nancy.

He is aware and has posted the info on the pay side, The information will eventually come out but you have to remember that this site has people that are paid salaries, With that comes the need to generate revenue, Part of driving revenue consists of giving information to paying customers. Not trying to be an A hole, Just reality. It’s up to each individual to decide if it is worth paying to be a member. I actually pay more out of wanting to show my appreciation for the site than hoping to get “inside” info.

Don't know how Iowa's and TCU's financial resources compare, but TCU head coach Mark Campbell is a great recruiter. His TCU bio brags that during his "seven-year assistant coaching tenure at Oregon, . . . he became widely regarded as the nation’s best recruiter. While in Eugene, Campbell was responsible for the recruitment of three top-10 picks in the 2020 WNBA Draft in Sabrina Ionescu (No. 1), Satou Sabally (No. 2) and Ruthy Hebard (No. 8). He also assembled the No. 1 overall recruiting class in 2020, a group that included five players who were both consensus top-25 talents and McDonald's All-Americans." Since arriving in Fort Worth, he has also demonstrated that he is more than just a great recruiter.

TCU is attracting more attention than Iowa over last couple of years. Big 12 is not same as Big Ten, but they either have donors or recruit very favorably. Iowa was set to play TCU in sweet 16 but never made it. TCU is plucking some bigger portal names. Lucy was iowa's surprise landing. Just my opinion. Iowa's attendance and CC22 is not the biggest issue for many, but is for some.
