Nothing new I see on reddit so far.now have heard from someone in the know that Dani and Thompson have scheduled a visit to iowa. anything new on your end?
Any pearls of wisdom you care to share with us?Anyone seen HawkBuck??
Now this is interesting . . . . If you are, anything interesting you are hearing or seeing? Welcome back . . . have missed you over the last year. Greatly appreciate any insight. Hawkbuck has been spot on for years.Anyone seen HawkBuck??
I don't think forwards is a priority today.Stanford has now lost three forwards to the portal.
Courtney Ogden 6'1" F 12.5ppg 4.3rpg
Lara Somfai 6'3" 10.8ppg 9.1rpg
Nunu Agara 6'2" 15ppg 8.7rpg
I guarantee that Cory Close from UCLA will get one of these three. They are available now. JJ and Iowa need forwards. We obviously don't know who they may have contacted through back channels, but one of these could help the Hawks. Will JJ's staff even reach out?
I would be shocked if Jan picked up a power 5 talent. Jan is not good at working the portal and neither are her assistants. We will be getting some developmental mid-major players…nothing wrong with that as long as they actually develop them.
Disagree. We need a forward to replace Hannah's rebounding at the very least.I don't think forwards is a priority today.
Nope. You don't want/need to pay for another high end forward when you have Journey and McKenna manning that one spot. Journey rebounded at the same rate as Hannah this year. On the other hand you only have 2 players filling the 3 guard/wing positions. Those are the priority today.Disagree. We need a forward to replace Hannah's rebounding at the very least.
We have 6 players LOL - I think everything is a priority. Right now the only true depth we have is C - Ava, Hayes, PF - Wolizcko and Houston (who could move to a 3).I don't think forwards is a priority today.
That's kind of the point. We have limited financial resources. We need 9 good players in the rotation. We already have 4 players set at the 4 and 5. We only have 2 players at the 1, 2, and 3. I like peach cobbler very much.Coach LaSondra is from Georgia; Chit Chat is from Georgia.
Two Georgia teammates in the portal.
Dani Carnegie 5'9" guard
Mia Woolfolk 6'3" forward
I know there is talk of possibly bringing in Carnegie for a visit. JJ should challenge her staff to get both on campus; offer both and have a successful portal experience. Chit Chat, LaSondra and the two girls from Georgia from the portal. Peach Cobbler for all. That would be a portaling coup.
And?In all fairness Lisa was still the coach when Lucy committed, (and they clearly sold her on coming right in and taking Clarks open spot). Lucy was the third leading scorer in the NCAA Clarks senior year, so it wasn't a stretch that she could fit in well, and hiring Barrett went a long way in making CCW comfortable coming to Iowa.

My guess is we will have 12 to 13 - We ran this several times with Bluder. That means 6-7 players. Some will be less than others. That's kind of the point. We have limited financial resources. We need 9 good players in the rotation. We already have 4 players set at the 4 and 5. We only have 2 players at the 1, 2, and 3. Priorities.
Lolol.. Good Lord. Yes Jan played a role in recruiting but lets be transparent anyway. Lisa recruited Lucy. Yes, Jan had to convince her to stay committed but she was not the HC. That was the conversation. Maybe she lands CCW and maybe Jan wouldn't have known much at all about CCW if she hadn't hired Barrett. I know, that I don't really know, and i'm pretty sure YOU don't know either. I mean must you question EVERYTHING? I'm not a hater here, but for some reason you have something in your craw. I think its fair to say that Jan played a role in landing those players. How much I don't really know. And?
Houston is a good rebounder but she's not, alone, filling the gap left by Hanna. Stuelke can defend and bang with the top 5s in the country. Hanna has defended the likes of Boston, Reese, Cardoso, and Crooks. No way Houston can duplicate Hanna.Nope. You don't want/need to pay for another high end forward when you have Journey and McKenna manning that one spot. Journey rebounded at the same rate as Hannah this year. The visits make total sense. Need guards/wings.My guess is we will have 12 to 13 - We ran this several times with Bluder. That means 6-7 players. Some will be less than others.
3 visits scheduled -
Hare - G 5' 9" sharp shooting guard depth piece (minor investment) SR
Thompson, - G 5' 10 - another good shooting back up guard (minor investment) JR
Carnegie G 5'9" - starter - scorer another good shooting 3 - very solid piece (significant investment) JR
Speiser 6' 1" -SG/SF - starter - very good shooter (significant investment) SO
If you got all that, The G depth would be significantly better. Would need 1 -2 Forwards/Center. Likely Senior or Junior players for depth purposes.
Isn't Ava a 5? She'll be guarding the opposing center, backed up by Layla. Journey will be giving up some height on the defensive end, but she, along with Wolizco will more than make up for that on offense with better shooting range, opening things up inside for Ava who won't have to worry about the high post sagging off to help which was a problem all season long.Houston is a good rebounder but she's not, alone, filling the gap left by Hanna. Stuelke can defend and bang with the top 5s in the country. Hanna has defended the likes of Boston, Reese, Cardoso, and Crooks. No way Houston can duplicate Hanna.
Because everything with you is a backhanded compliment. And you can’t admit it.Lolol.. Good Lord. Yes Jan played a role in recruiting but lets be transparent anyway. Lisa recruited Lucy. Where did you see the rumors for the visits? My guess is we will have 12 to 13 - We ran this several times with Bluder. That means 6-7 players. Some will be less than others.

The last time I looked, Georgia Tech is in Georgia.Barrett and CCW are from Georgia Tech
Hare is confirmed, there have been a couple different posts seeming to confirm chit chats previous teammates and has connections to coaches.Where did you see the rumors for the visits?
I’m pretty sure playing time was the issue with Addie.Boy was I wrong about the family circle two weeks ago. Five have hit the portal, not 2. Still surprised Addie left, probably a starter for the 26-27 season (money had to be the issue). Levin was also a big surprise, guess she wants to play. Johnson and Rodriguez no surprise. Mallegni a bit surprised. My starting five prediction doesn't change much. Will need a starter at the two or three. Need PG, CG, WF and PF to bring the roster to 10. May bring in five.
Deal had Some pretty dumb turnovers alsoYeah Stremlow stepped up for sure but she also brought along some bewildering dumb turnovers. I have a hard time forgetting those it seems. To me she'd be a great 6th man.
Relying on a 5'11" guard to replace Hannah's rebounding is a recipe for disaster. Not at the same rate when you compare ten minutes a game and thirty minutes. Sorry that just doesn't fly.Nope. You don't want/need to pay for another high end forward when you have Journey and McKenna manning that one spot. Journey rebounded at the same rate as Hannah this year. Yes she did and Kylie tooI’m pretty sure playing time was the issue with Addie.

Oh, and I would also add regarding ball security, Stremlow had an ATO ratio of almost 2-1. Speiser, who everyone on here seems to be pining for and believes is a superior player had an ATO ratio of .42 which is terrible.Yeah Stremlow stepped up for sure but she also brought along some bewildering dumb turnovers. Hare was hardly a sharpshooter. Reminds me of the posters who claimed the same trait regarding Mallegni by just observing her in pregame shooting. My guess is we will have 12 to 13 - We ran this several times with Bluder. That means 6-7 players. Some will be less than others.

So did KF. It was frustrating to see that from a 5th year player.I’m pretty sure playing time was the issue with Addie.

Okay Mr. Stremlow we get it!!!Oh, and I would also add regarding ball security, Stremlow had an ATO ratio of almost 2-1. Speiser, who everyone on here seems to be pining for and believes is a superior player had an ATO ratio of .42 which is terrible.
Hannah is 6'2" and was a rebounding machine that averaged 9 rebounds in 31 minutes. Theres no denying that. Journey is 6' and averaged 5 rebounds in 18 minutes. It's not inconceivable at all that Journey could raise that to 7 or 8 per game with the additional minutes. That's hardly a disaster losing 1 or 2 rebounds per game worst case, but we'll see what happens. Maybe Jan moves her to the 3 but she hasn't shown long range shooting to be a strength as of yet and that's also going to require adding a skilled forward from the portal. Skillset wise she's really a 4 today.Relying on a 5'11" guard to replace Hannah's rebounding is a recipe for disaster. Not at the same rate when you compare ten minutes a game and thirty minutes. Sorry that just doesn't fly.
Hey! I'm a numbers guy. If you want to spout off about shat and argue why someone's better then at least provide something substantive to support your arguments! I don't care about your feels!Okay Mr. Stremlow we get it!!!
Sharpshooter that shoots 36% from the field and 37% from the FT line? Do you consider Layla Hays a sharpshooter because these are Layla Hays numbers.
Says sharpshooter. I’ll take an article over message board poster any day. In either case she is a depth piece.
