The white kid from Kentucky who was supposed to be the answer to our three point shooting woes. I'm not sure if he ever suited up before leaving school.I have to go with Quincy Ballard.
Andrew Taylor. That's another good one but he didn't contribute enough to matter to me. Along with Kanye Clary. The white kid from Kentucky who was supposed to be the answer to our three point shooting woes. I'm not sure if he ever suited up before leaving school.
Look to the O-line.Andrew Taylor. That's another good one but he didn't contribute enough to matter to me. Along with Kanye Clary.
I'm trying to think of any football misses.
1. BallardI have to go with Quincy Ballard.
Brandon Sneh.I have to go with Quincy Ballard.
This was the first one that came to my mind. He was highly rated out of the portal from what I remember. He was not a good player for us.I had high hopes for Makylan Pounders to be a solid left tackle after transferring from Memphis. He started for a pretty good Memphis team. He only stayed one year here and wasn't great, then transferred out
We needed a win thereThe amount of money we paid Krome to hold a clipboard was a bold move.
We must have spent more in backup QBs than any school in the country. Too bad we didn’t spend much in starters. The amount of money we paid Krome to hold a clipboard was a bold move.
Dollar for dollar I dont see how anyone is even in the same hemisphere as BallardI have to go with Quincy Ballard.
Kugel was boneheaded but him and Melendez flashed some skill when they were on that season. The entire 25 transfer class was worse except for Epps.1. Ballard
2. Kugel
3. Taylor
We all knew that Clary had quit or was kicked off the team at Penn State the previous year. Kugel & Taylor are both mysteries.
Zuber was at least talented. He hung around practice teams in the NFL for a few years. That one is all on SloMo.For football, I remember Isaiah Zuber having a lot of hype coming from KState before collecting a whopping 213 yards receiving under a Joe Moorhead coached offense.
You look at the guy and he looked like he could be the best post player we have had since Varnardo. Then proceeds to get on the court and get blocked out by small guards.Dollar for dollar I dont see how anyone is even in the same hemisphere as Ballard
And dropping a key 3rd or 4th down pass late in the game against KStateFor football, I remember Isaiah Zuber having a lot of hype coming from KState before collecting a whopping 213 yards receiving under a Joe Moorhead coached offense.
Just give moreThis is one of those threads that makes me wonder what the 17 we’re doing.
Nobody knows man, we're just wingin' it.This is one of those threads that makes me wonder what the 17 we’re doing.
Scott and fort were juco guys so not portal. Reed and Stevenson were 2 guys who played big minutes on a tournament team and Jans had 0 funding that class (thanks Cohen)Under Jans watch, Tyler Stevenson, Eric Reed, Jamel Horton, Jaquan Scott, Foumena, Achor, Walker, Ali, Ballard, Clary, Euro, Fort, Taylor
The only portal pickups that we got any production (and it was limited) from in the Jans era were Bell, Deshawn Davis, Harris, Melendez, and Kugel
That's before NIL though. Dude was just a grad transfer. For football, I remember Isaiah Zuber having a lot of hype coming from KState before collecting a whopping 213 yards receiving under a Joe Moorhead coached offense.
I think he re-injured that shoulder in about the 2nd or 3rd game of the season and was playing hurt all year. Not sure if this technically counts as a “portal miss” or just a transfer miss, but its hard to imagine any bigger bust than KJ Costello.
His last fully healthy season at Stanford, he put up basically the same numbers as Justin Herbert did at Oregon right before getting drafted in the Top 5….against the same competition. Then he comes here, under a very proven passing HC/OC, lights the world on fire in Baton Rouge, then completely forgot how to play football for the rest of his career.
First, again, that was pre-NIL. Also, he at least started all year. Third, he rode the bench for 4 years at Bama so you had no reason to have high hopes.I had high hopes for Scott Lashley from AL when he transferred here. He wasn't as bad as Javen James that just left us for AL (scratching my head wondering why they wanted him) but Lashley just never seemed to progress any
Jacob PruittWho was the Indiana State pitcher last year with the glasses? I heard we paid him a ton and I don't even remember his name.
You look at the guy and he looked like he could be the best post player we have had since Varnardo. Then proceeds to get on the court and get blocked out by small guards.
Our highly paid coaching staffs wonder that as well. They just don't admit it.This is one of those threads that makes me wonder what the 17 we’re doing.
