Averaging 20 ppg in the BIG 12 Conference is pretty impressive to me. Honestly, I don’t know what some of y’all expect. No one wanted to play here and these are the guys Pope has to go after. Until he’s gone y’all know it’ll continue to be this way.
From highlights, his game reminds me of Oweh in terms of being able to get in the paint and finish. If he commits, I would think this makes Chandler your 6th man off the bench. I think he would excel in that role.

I know we all wanted some continuity in the roster, and Cal wasn’t doing well in that arena; but we didn’t really mean for Mark to just whiff on every five star he recruits? Just keep some pieces.

But now, we aren’t getting any talent from high school, we aren’t getting best talent from the portal, and we kept two maybe three descent players from season before.

Really ******* this up right now. If Mark doesn’t pull something off - maybe just getting the perfect pieces for his system, and couple of really talented scorers - he’s looking for a job after next year, and we are back to the drawing board with probably nothing.

Mark - I’m praying for you buddy.

That’s what I don’t understand. His system requires 3 point shooters but he recruits guys that are everything but. It blows my mind. It’s why we sucked last year. And we was decent when we had guys like Butler, Brea, Jaxson and Carr who could actually shoot.

Every potential transfer, when I check their stats, is a bad (or maybe average) three point shooter. What are we even doing?
The weird thing is that when Pope was hired we were told he had this unique offensive system contingent on having ace three pt shooters at every position.

So why haven’t we been recruiting players fit for such a system? Did he just decide to stop running that system when he became the UK coach?

A career 29 percent shooter from 3-point land. That's gotta improve Kentucky's offensive rebound opportunities.
Here come the well if he played this many minutes and shot this many times he would be a 60% shooter average 90 a game we need him, BLAH BLAH. Good things he can score because he sure can't defend with a 110.6 defense rating he will put up 20 and give up 25

I’m dreaming of Jai Lucas this time next year if things don’t work out.

You guys get on here and act like just cause a kid comes from a small school that he can't be good. Yaxel came from UAB and was one of the best players in the country and won a national championship. If the kid can play, he can play!

Yaxel came from a generally top 10 conference, the AAC. Let's not act like UAB is from the SWAC or MEAC.

As for Terrence Brown. Ill give him some credit for shooting the ball better in conference- 36%

46/36/76

25pts
5 assists
3 turnovers

So there is some proof there that he can hold his own in a conference like the B12. His team around him was just lousy. Still, I think we have to be able to do better.

Count me among those not very impressed with this guy, because I don’t really see any one thing that he does particularly well. His shooting percentages at every level (at the rim, midrange, three point line, and free throws) are mediocre to bad. The assist/turnover ratio is unimpressive. He rates terribly on defense. He really just looks like a volume chucker who scored a lot because someone had to on a bad Utah team. If we can’t do better than him in the portal, it’s going to be a long season coming up.

Two things to consider.
His game compliments Chandler's while not running CC off.
His price tag makes it possible to still afford Stokes.

this is 100% because the kid if from Utah and Pope needs to get on the board with at least someone. Pope probably has known this kid awhile.

Just FYI, Terrence Brown is a black guy from Minnesota who played his first 2 years at a university in Jersey, so I don't think he really fits the narrative you are claiming.
