Pope just has so little room for error, he really needs to put together a team that people are saying checks all the boxes

Probably really doesn’t matter until we see what Mark does with whoever he signs. I haven’t really seen much development. If he doesn’t get a team that fits perfectly to what he runs, he’ll suck again; as I don’t think he can work with anything else.
C. Average coach gets an average roster.
This -- most of the board game him an A for last year's haul (I gave it a C overall and F if you factor in the money spent), and the result ended up being a D-F.
D- even if he lands Stokes, prime Michael Jordan, Air Bud, and that big Wanabe Power Forward Saleh from The Air Up There. He still has to coach them.

I don't think Pope's success hinges on Stokes or any individual player
It really is a moneyball situation, and I think Pope's downfall last year was bringing in guys who professed the name of the front mentality while he rejected the guys who wanted to negotiate.
If what I've read is true, Pope needs to bring a closer with him to the recruiting process, someone that can get in his ear and say "this needs to happen, don't walk away" or "this isn't our guy" more than just Pope bias that he has for what really is a "Kentucky" kid
I also think a bunch of coaches are going to be big on setting expectations early on with these players who think they can negotiate playing time, position, number of touches , etc. So while negotiating with these kids has to happen its also about having them understand the boundaries of what their role is and the obligations that are expected from it.

I’d say that you would need to wait to see which players we get first, right?
I gave it a D because 90% were role players or unproven.
You act like you are stating something obvious, when in actuality, the ability to predict "what is the stock market doing 4 weeks from now" is the key to making serious money and the reason why the money you have in your bank account stays in that bank account.
And your inability to see where such forecasting plays a role in the bigger picture is why you'll stay mediocre for the rest of your life.

Just kinda crazy that we can't demand performance but the players can demand minutes to perform. One sided terms, to say the least about it.

Betting? No. I figure the roster will look like a B, 3 players will be injured before a month into the season, and Pope will be run out of the state.
But this poll is silly so I’m hoping Pope proves me wrong, we make it to at least the Final Four, and the season goes so well that we are all happy to have him back.
Because I’m actually a fan, so I always want us to do well and for our coach to have success.
